i bought my rims, which happen to be d/d 10th anniversary wheels. now if i was to throw them on the car, they would stick out of the quarters.:thumbsdown1: so because i still want to drop the car i will need to knock about 2 1/2" off each side. i was looking into the internal jigs they sell, and only found 1, which is $500 for a steel shaft, and 4 bushings. does anyone have a better place to buy, or an alternative?
the other thing is.. can i just call up moser/strange and say "i need a couple 31 spline axles 2 1/2" shorter then my stock mustang ones?"
(i know the tires wont clear the inner wells, so thats why im tubbing it.. 345's should look nasty.)

You can build your own jig or bring it to me and i will shorten it.as far as axles go when you figure out what length you need call whoever you choose to use and give them the measurement.

i figured there werent many people that make them.. my buddy has a lathe and said he would machine the bushings for me.. i just need to buy the solid rod. any special grade i would need or can i use the cheaper cold rolled?

Just a rod that will not flex.

Cold rolled would work. It is more precise than hot rolled. Check around for some good used hydraulic cylinder rods. They're precision ground and hard. We made a jig here at work for the same thing. It works good.
