Yes they work...but I wouldn't want one personally. I've rebuilt an old ball drive Paxton SN blower before.
Save and shop for something newer and MUCH better like a Novi 1000 or used S trim..
Can be had for $1000-1400 if you shop around or piece together a kit.

Almost always some on Ebay. Keep an eye on the Power Adder section of the classifieds over at the Corral.net/forums.

Check on Corral.net or DFWstangs.com. Usually some good stuff on there in the power adder sections.

Summit has rock bottom prices on blowers too. I run the 10PSI V1 head in my 92....I love it.:thumbsup1:
Becareful of used units on ebay. If you need to send it out to get the bearings replaced, it might run yah about 800.00
Just my .02 from dealing with this stuff over the years.

True if you sent it back to Vortech. They like to stick it to people on that.
I had a SC trim start making some noise on me (after I ran it a year). I bought the bearings and seals and did it myself for around $250. Even when I pulled it apart nothings looked bad, just had a touch of roughness to one bearing.

one thing i have been wondering about.. what involves rebuilding one? what has to be done to get to the bearings? reason i ask this is because, instead of shipping a unit off to get overhauled.. why cant someone who knows what there doing and what bearings it takes rebuild it themselves?

Exactly.... Why I did it myself. Long as you use the correct seals and rpm rated bearings it's not exactly rocket science. There have been several threads over on Corral.net about it. I have the thread saved and step by step instructions saved somewhere on one of my comps. It's mostly common sense.

alright thats good news to me, as you know nc stang guy i will be pieceing together a kit in the near future. most likely when my taxes come.. it will be about 1200 bucks could i find a nice 10 to 15 lb charger for that price when pieced together?

$1200 should be in the ball park. Seeing a lot of complete kits on Ebay/Corral lately for $1400-1600. Just remember though you really don't need the FMU or the TREX inline pump. A Walbro GSS340 255lph intank is enough for 500 rwhp by itself. A Good MAF,some 60 lb injectors(gives room to grow down the road) and a tune will be all you need. That will involve some cash but it's worth it.

good :yes1: i am planning on going with a bigger maf and injectors running 30lbs and 76mm maf now. not sure what size maf to go to if i get 60lbs, or would a simple recalibration from a tune correct the maf for the new injectors?
as for the tune well im gonna have a problem. i have no idea of any shops near by, and places of people ive talked to that have taken theirs for a tune say it was pointless.. main issue is,: elevation for example you tune it in fredreck or baltimore and tune it there , bring it back and run it in the mountians its not gonna run the same.
