I've got a 1992 coupe with an A4ld.

My transmission went bad so I got another used one, it didn't last long so I got another used one but it seems to be from an earlier car.
Either the car or the transmission is a 3 wire and the other is a 2 wire can't remember which is which , sorry, the car is not close to me.

We've got 1st and 2nd but no 3rd or OD.

We've been trying to got this car driving for longer that I care to think about.

I think he spliced a 2 wire plug to the 3 wire harness but I wouldn't swear to it, I was doing something else and I'm the flunky.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, ivel

I have no experience with it myself so I can't tell you much. I've only seen guys mentioning having to have the right year tranny (talking A4LD) for what year car it was. I would guess what you're running into is the reason.

Like I said before the only control on the 2 wire is the TCC, so it should work. My bet is the trans is bad internal.
