I was just wanting to make sure that I can used a 4 banger t-5 with a v-8 as long as I take it easy. Also, I was wondering what all i need to do this. Thanks :thumbsup1:

Yeah it'll work just fine. Drive it like granny stole it! You'll need a diesel Ranger with pilot bearing to pop into the crank. I have a part number somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

Ah yes, here it is. Part #FC65354 @ Advance Auto Parts from an 85 Ranger diesel. $4.98. That and the V8 flywheel/clutch/bell assembly and you're good to go!

I have an extra pilot if you want it I will throw it in with the fan, when I come up with a price, lol.

It is a nice ball bearing that was sold on EBay at the 2.3 to 5.0 swap bearing.

drive it like you would any other t-5 my 4 cylinder t-5 went 8.0s on et streets t-5s are all junk thell last as long as they last

so the 4 banger t-5 will work with the v-8 no problem as long as you dont get on it hard and you use the right pilot bearing?

had a 4cyl t5 in my 88gt and went 7.62 and had no problems. i really dont know if it is any weaker than any stock t5 i had no problems with mine at all

No, not really. You can but its not going to last long.

I used to run a 4-cyl. T-5 and it is still working. I beat on it every chance I had:yes1:

the t-5 in my blue car is a 4-banger t-5. i kinda enjoy it 4 my daily use because the lower gears (or maybe just first) are actually geared lower. and trust me, i drive that car like i stole it when i drive it, of course i did throw my 3-4 synchronizer, but i feel like that could happen on any t-5
