Best time for me in one of my Stangs was a 10.4 @ 140 That was back in the 80's when a 10 second street car was hardly heard of anywhere. It wasn't very streetable, and of course the trap speed screams 9's, but the suspension just wasn't up to the task. My second quickest was a 92 Hatch that I got rid of in 97. It had a built motor, blower, and a really nice Lentech AOD to go with the suspension mods. Without even shifting it was capable of pulling 11.2's at 125, and could repeat those numbers in near bracket fashion. Alas getting out of the Navy along with a divorce forced the loss of that one otherwise I'd still have it. The Coupe is still in progress, so no new numbers, but I did coax a high 12 out of her a couple years back on the old combo...

I've been a best of 8.80 in my 69 Mustang, full body, full interior, etc. Its a 302 with stock heads, small cam, 4 brl, long tubes and a 3000stall C4 and 3.25 gears. I run 8.99 index and its almost perfect, need some more gear.

Kelly's 90 went a 9.42 at 78 mph in the 1/8. That was on the old stock motor with over 240,000 on it and 2.73 gears!!:eek1:
Haven't taken it back with the new motor. And no the 87 hasn't been down the track yet.

never gonna tell you my times in the Fox but my Terminator ran a 12.5 and that was spinning :)
I raced another Cobra with less mods but the driver had a lot more seat time than me and he ran 11.9 while I hit him with an 12.7....the cars got it but the driver doesn't :)

Your right, but rules want allow bars. Last year it did get within 2"s of the rear bumper. It went out as in the avatar, and past the 60ft, it went straight up! I was like :hi: sky! This year I lowered the car alot, and it's staying down nice and neat, but is over powering the track/tires. Hopefully I can get it dialed in before the race on the 20th!:pray:

Only car I've ran with the current setup is my 90 coupe.
It's went 10.15 @132.15 nat asp with the pump gas 427 windsor on 275/50/15 M/T drag radials. Best 1/8 was 6.45 @ 107.6

Last time I ran my vert it had the Vortech blower setup,went 11.38 @124.9 being easy off the line and trying to make the t-5 live a while. (half worked,broke an axle next pass,lol)

Last time my 93 hatch was together it had a mild 357 windsor and ran 11.56 @ 120.6 nat asp on 17" Nitto drag radials...its drivetrainless now.

I know, I'd like to see it run faster and not to make excuses(but I will :p)...

- Launching a KB with a stick is touchy, very easy to roast the tires so I find a somewhat soft roll out is more consistent.
- Race weight with driver is 3,765lbs(blower, roll bar, dynomat, audio equipment, etc. adds up!)
- Running a 3.27 rear doesn't help the ETs, but sure does on the highway...2k rpm at 70mph. :thumbsup1:
- I granny shift. I've never powershifted before as I wouldn't want to break something and then I'm stuck since I don't trailer her anywhere.

I'm please with the way the car performs, but the way I have it setup it'll never run what it could with the power it makes.

That thing is making plenty of MPH to get into the 12's, maybe a driver mod? LOL I'm kidding...Seriously get that 60 down and it'll go 12's for sure...

!0.30s lifting at the 1000ft lost head gasket and went 135+ the week before all this with only 1.70 60 fts LOL. Needs a trans brake bad. But it is fine for a street car. Turbocharged 306 C4 and 331 rear gears.

I used to take it to Bradenton whenever I did an upgrade. The fastest was 13.33 @ 106 w/a sorry 2.26 60ft. This was on 275/40-17 goodyears. Stock 86 bottom end w/ the flat top piston, 90 self ported heads ( stock valves), with stiffer springs, b303 cam(degreed 4) don't remember if it was - or +, ported stock intake, 65mm Accufab TB, Still speed density, K&N conical, Mac longtubes, O/R h-pipe, and 2-1/2 cat back, 3:55 gears w/ aluminum DS. My car was really low and not set up to drag race. It was just like it is in the avatar. With drag radials and more track time I could of easily got into the 12s. The car did only weight 2825 lbs with the big stereo. Now with the 4v swap I've added a lot of weight. But I'm hoping to run high 12s to low 13s, and the future goal is to run low 12s all motor.:pray:

lol your not kidding in the east we hardly ever run 1/8 mile.... any reason for 1/8 being so popular in south :thumbsup1:

In all fairness there are three 1/4 mile drag strips within 60 miles of my house though here in the middle of NC/SC where I live.

i wish they had 1/8 mile by me i would love to do something different than 1/4 im hoping to finish a safety strap i made for my hood then finally making some passes with my stroker motor and maybe with a little shot of nos too. I have never ran at the track in anything other than the passenger seat of dads car and i couldnt think of a better car than my mustang! But i hope i get to real soon! :) (I havent been practicing on the back streets when no ones around!) :thumbsup1:

Been 9.68 @ 143.xx 1.39 60ft on DRs with my 07 .
Havent been to the track yet with my fox . Going E85 Carb set up with a Wilson ProFlow Plate. Car should be ready in a few weeks. I hope to see low 10s in the teens.
