I know this has probably been beat to death but I don't feel like searching SVTP or somewhere for hours reading everyones opinions or get flamed for asking it again. I know the smartest fox people in the world are right here so Im gonna ask. I plan on going to five lug soon. What's the best way? I don't wanna hunt the junk yards for anything, but if there is anything like rotors or something I can order for a certain year Im down for that. I own a Carquest Auto Parts so I can save myself some money there. I'd don't really care about having disc on the back drum is fine as long as its five lug. What's the best route? I've been looking at some of the ford racing stuff but I've heard of people doing it cheaper? Help! And thanks in advance!!

The cheapist way is Lincolin Rotors and ranger axles. I bought the 5 lug conversion from 50resto but there are only cetain wheels you can run. For a more varity of wheels got with the SN-95 stuff

Use rotors from a 85-91 lincoln Mark 8. Then just get a set of good motorsport or moser axles. Then if you want to stay with drums use 9 inch Ranger drums. Now some wheel off newer stangs will require sn 95 spindles. but for welds and centerlines and stuff you want have to do that. You can use bullitts but the front center caps want go on unless you change the spindles and said before.

The LRS kit is $399, but if you can give yourself a good discount then the folks above have you covered ! Have at it and post up pics of your new rims when you're done ! :thumbsup1:

I wanna run these wheels. It doesn't list them under the LRS kit. Any idea what I will need to run these?

well you asked for the best way, not cheapest not the easiest. the absolutely best way to get the entire conversion kit from ford racing or baer, or similar. otherwise you will be limited to certain rims, lesser quality fit, mismatch stuff. i kinda did inbetween, got some new parts ordered other parts that are the same as the kits. did a few junkyard runs blah blah. in any case here is a link to the best website with most of the answer for anyway you want to do it and pictures. it is prob the best resource ever for this subject. use that link and you can't go wrong.
also i have some brake dust shields for the rear if you go disk that is already powdercoated black pm if interested.

these guys have some good parts too pricey sometimes though but good info.

and this guy on ebay has some great advice and can help you find those little parts that will have you screaming in the night trying to find alone.

hope all these helps. i would say check out those links and do your homework, brakes are def not where you want to rush and to just get it done. do it right the first time that way you have the correct brakes setup and all to do whatever you want.

So if I use the stuff from Ford Racing can I run the wheels above?

if you use the frrp 2300k set i think it is. it will give you the cobra r setup which should be to run any 17' rims from ford from 94-04. so any rims that fit those cars would work also.

I know what you mean. I bought the LRS kit and now I am going to change my front spindles over to 94-04 spec.

I think I might just call jegs when I get ready and order the wheels and tell them I need the five lug stuff to make it work. That way Ill know Im getting the right set up.

you could do that but like above just remember if you do the entire upgrade correctly you won't have to change again later. four wheel disc is not totally needed but **** is it nice to have. stock brakes are marginal at best, and with some mods they are totally under what i would deem safe.

If you can run Welds, Greg Weld, Bogarts, etc. with the LRS kit. Then these should work also.
