can it be done??? can you go 550 lift with out hitting the pistons? biggest thing its gunna do is make it sound mean i know...heads will be switched to some windsor jr's down the road

As far as the heads if they're not worked you probly will not get the optimal flow for that much lift and duration... As for hitting the piston they probly will but the best thing you can do is purchase the adjustable push rod length checker tool thingy.... I'm pretty sure crane, comp cams, and trick flow make one.... If you get on Summit.com you can search for it then you will be able to check your clearence and figure out what size pushrods you need all in the same time.

I run a F cam with 1.70 rockers on the GT40 Y303 aluminum heads on my stock short block.
That being said it always needs to be checked when it's that close. You do have better springs on the stock heads right? The F cam in my car doesn't sound as good as the old Lunati I had imo. F works with the turbo better but thats another story.
F doesn't seem to work as well as some others on n/a combos and it's pretty useless on stock heads.
im running an Fcam with 1.6 rockers on stock heads. no problem. just did the stab and pray method. stock valve springs are way past done now. and the heads are really small.
but yup, it sounds good.
