I use Tweecer then when I get the tune done I burn it using a Moates chip. Moates is coming out with a new product that will program the OBD cars like SCT equipment.

Why not a pms.It can be run in standalone like dfi or piggy back and it has very wide open tuning abilities

You need the F1 ($85), F2A adapter ($10), and the F3 Memory card ($60). The F3 is what holds your tunes and can store 2 tunes that can be changed while driving by flipping a switch that you add to the board. If you want to program another car you buy another F3 but nothing else. The software is free.

It's not to bad to learn if you are PC / technically inclined.

Moates is some good stuff. I have it around here. we use Diablosport on most all rides, as we are a CMR dealer. The PMS is a nice, but I have not been able to turn off adaptive controll with it. And to get the tune dead on, you need it off and the fuel trims reset. Then you can spend the time to get the MA curve correct. That is the single most important thing to do when tuning

the ostrich is a cool thing too... lets you make tuning adjustments in real time... i know that theres a who website based around the DIY tuning for hondas but i have yet to find something similar for mustangs.

You can turn adaptive back on when you get your tune set but you have to make sure that your MAF curve and fuel injector breakpoints and offsets are dead on.

A good website for DIY mustang tuning is http://www.eectuning.org

For downloadble templates to help you tune http://www.tunexchange.mustang-tech.org/

Both of these websites focus on using Binary Editor to tune with and it is a pay for software. You can use everything you learn with the free software EEC Editor. Binary Editor has some features that EEC editor does not but if you are just trying to save every buck possible than you can do the tuning part for free.

Another brand of software is TunerPro. It is free and not so bad to work with. It works with all of the moates stuff

That is another good one. I mainly use Binary Editor for the ability to compare two different tunes to quickly see the difference.

I recommend the moates stuff. For a Ford it is $155 for everything you need. The one other thing I recommend getting a wide band. It is really hard to tune without and down right dangerous for your motor.

I will try and help anybody who wants it. I am no master buy any means but I will help fellow stangers out. I have tuned nitrous, supercharger, and now turbo setups.

Do you have the ability to live datalog with the moates or any of the other tuners??

Stable
08-21-2008, 08:32 AM
You can make real time changes, but not data log with moates. Sneec is a device that will datalog, but they have not made any new ones in a while, and if anyone has a Sneec and wants to sell it, just let me know

also it depend on what car(computer) you are talking about as for as data logging. Any of the Diablosport Pred's and the SCT flash tuners will data log. Also HP tuning software will data log the can buss, IE 05 and up ford stuff.

Yes the Tweecer RT $550 can datalog. Moates is coming out with one that will datalog for $250. On the website it says it should be available this month.

It should if it keeps in line with his past offerings but it hasn't been released yet (anyday) and he is keeping it secret.

93stallion302
08-21-2008, 11:14 PM
nope not at all. It always has the habbit of starting on the 2nd crank of the key tho.Even when it was stock. Idle is fine, its never really cold in Miami.

What are your nitrous setting? Fuel pressure, bottle pressure and jets? Most people do not relize , but a 50 lbs difference in bottle pressure will effect the tune of the nitrous system.

Fp=40psi
bottle pressure is at: 1000-1100psi
Jets: Im dont remember the exact numbers but its a fat 150. fuel jet is one - two steps higher.
