A few months ago I replaced the ignition Module on the distributor because suddenly my car stopped running. I haven't had an issue until yesterday when I was leaving work and the motor would turn over great but again acted like there was no spark. I could hear the fuel pump come on so I don't think it's fuel related. Anyway, after about 5 minutes I decided to try it again and it cranked right up. Drove 30 miles home in stop and go traffic, no issues. Cranked it this morning would not fire up on the first try but did so on the second try. But I decided to leave it at home as my luck is not great and I may get stranded on the interstate again like last time! Any easy way to diagnose this? Could that module have gone out so quickly? I know I can have someone crank while I see if I am getting any spark, anything else? I ended up paying out the nose last time to have this diagnosed and fixed. Really don't have the money to do that again right now so any help would be appreciated!

The non-OEM ford DIS modules are notoriously crappy. You might even be better off swapping the whole dizzy for a known good used one. Heat seems to affect the aftermarket ones a lot. Hope this helps.

I'll double check but I think it was a Motorcraft part from Ford. Also I did not replace the PIP last time so I will start there and see if that fixes it.

Yeah, I had an issue once...turned out to be a bad (new) plug. But my friend had a dizzy he let me have out of his old car, easier to swap the whole thing than the PIP :D

mine did this for about a week, on, and off, then left me stranded in the parking lot at work.. i unplugged the tps, and it fired up. prolly a fluke, but the tps was my problem.

If the TPS fails to the 5V range it will tell the PCM that you are in "clear flood" mode and it will not fire the injectors. On the ignition side the PIP is the signal that the stator and ignition module sends to the PCM. If you replaced the module and you test the TPS and its good, then I would say its the stator.

my car did this for a while...start sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't. it ended up being the fuel pump relay under the driver seat. never had a problem since then. not saying thats your problem if you hear the fuel pump kick on every time you turn the key on but mine wasn't. didnt notice it til it wouldn't start sometimes lol.

Ok so I ran the codes and nothing, got an 11 system pass on both KOEO KOER. So, guess I am back to square one. Guess I will just drive it till it does it again.
