Saw this on another site and was wondering why we love our foxes?? I've wanted one since around 1990 or so and had my notch for about 3 years now and I don't think I could live without a fox in the garage! My Transmission was giving me hell about 2 weeks ago and It's almost back and ready! Can't wait to drive that little beast!!
Back to the original question though...I love mine because it is easy to mod.,still turns heads, lightweight, clean lines,it's a FORD,and SEFB!!! Let's hear why you love your Fox Body!!!:)

Wow well I guess I like it because it is small like the orginal. I like the new mustangs (94 - 08) but to me they are just a tad to big. Fox's are sexy as hell.

My brother bought a new 84 GT, I loved that car. But in 86 they had a cover shot on Motertrend of a 87 GT and a Notch. Feel in love with the new nose, bought my first Notch in 1988, and have never looked back. Owned one ever since.:yes1:

I love the Fox Body because there are not many around in good condition anymore and I have always loved this car since I was younger and when I got mine at 14 for Christmas I fell in love all over again and I don't think any other car could suit me more than my sexy Biatch:thumbsup1:

I've been lucky enough through the years to have been graced by the presence of 14 different Stangs of varying year/engine combo. I've had more Foxes than anything else though, and a Fox was also my first brand new car ( 1991 LX 5.0 ), so I guess that weighs in there as well. The new stuff is cool, hell I've seen cool Mustang II's, but I just love the Fox more for some reason...:)

I love the foxbody because, its IMO a huge sleeper car in the looks department. These are grandma cars with potent motors. I love the fact that only cra guys know what I drive, Every1 else just thinks its a clunker and i like it that way.

I love the foxes cause IMO they are one of the best body styles that Ford has ever made for the Mustang.....maybe that is also why it is the longest running body style. Anyway I grew up on a farm in Illinois and have always been a mechanical type person with tractors, combines, and other farm equip. around......and I remember I saw a fox back in 93'. Then a few years later I was in high school and I was over at a friends house and to my surprise his neighbor (well a few blocks away) was Les Bauer ,yes thee Pro5.0 driver Les Bauer and back then he also had a badass fox.....and since that day I knew this was the car I wanted to build/own.......and since then for over 12 years I have owned 4 Mustang's and ALL have been foxes. It is a Mustang that I have always loved and her body lines have never gottin' old.....it looks good every time I wake up in the morning and it never gets old!!!!

They were all over tha magazines in 87 when they came out. I was blown away by thte looks. And they were just flat out faster cars than camaros at the time. The foxbody re-energized the Mustang brand the same way the Grand National did for regals. I've seen plenty other cars that wowed me at first site, but the foxbody has not grown old on my like others. I used to love IROC's and T/A's and now I wouldn't get caught dead in one. The style got old. Foxbodies are different. They don't get old, they get modded:thumbsup1:

Well let me see, Like someone else said, when the aeronose came out in 87 it was love at first sight!!! To bad I couldn't afford insurance AND car payment back then and drove off the lot in a 89Escort GT., But hey it was a GT...LOL Fast forward 11 years, YES 11 Years I drove that Escort, 7 wrecks, 3 fuel pumps, 2 timing belts and 2 sets of brakes, the last wreck totaled it. We found a ONE OWNER 90GT (Kelly's ride) this thing was ALL Motorcraft under the hood still, local car all it's life and all paperwork! We now have FOUR Foxes in the family, so I guess you could say we love em!!!! hehehe
I do like the newer stangs, but I'll always own a fox, just something about the way they drive and the body lines.

I have been a Ford and Mustang man all my life. For the longest time I've wanted a 65-69 Stang. I can still remember when I was 11 in 1982 there was an ad in a magazine with a Black 1982 GT that said "The Boss is Back" and I was hooked on the fox body from then on. In high school I dreamt of having a 85-86 GT or newer just couldn't get my hands on one. After high school I became a dad so for the longest time the hot rod bug got pushed aside. When we moved to SC I knew i wanted a hot car......and the absolute best bang for the buck out there is the Fox Body Stang......First I had a 91 LX hatch, had to sell and now I have my 88 GT......Long Live the Fox!!

i cant really take credit for it, this subject got brought up a LONG time ago on BMC and i saved it then. lol
I have always loved mustangs, and 87-93 inparticular. when i was lookin for a mustang, i know i wanted a black on black, lx hatch back. i want a HB cuz coupes are some what "over rated" IMO. and i wanted a lx cuz "gt's" are a bit over rated out side the "mustang people" people who dont know crap about mustangs think that a gt is so much better than my car when i explain to them whats diff. and try to tell them that there the same under the hood and drive line, the only things is the body kit, and the map light (maybe a few more simple stuff). but i wanted to show every body that a HB's can be just as fast a coupes, and can pick the front tires up just as easy. and like i said before, most of the "drag cars" are Foxbody GT's, and you always see them haulin ass down the strip. so im with the LX guys who feel the same way i do. and no offence to you coupe or gt guys out there, i never said i didnt love them also.. :)

I've loved mustangs since I was a child. I guess it all started when my parents bought me a red mustang pedal car. I love Fox hatches best. Beautiful and sleek. And nothing, I mean nothing, sounds better than a 5.0 stang!!! I like the SN95 also, but the Fox will always be my favorite.

It was back in like 91 or 92 & I was hanging out at dad's BP station learning my way around the garage. A red four eye hatch would come through the intersection infront of the station about 4pm every day & punch it as he was heading towards the state line. The sound just grabbed my heart & hasn't let go. He finally stopped in one day & let me drool on his car. His car was built up pretty good - I dont remember the specs, but, I know it had a cam & flowmasters. I wanted a 5.0 from then on...I couldn't get that sound out of my head. In 95, when I got my learners permit, a friend of dads stopped by with his 91GT. I learned to drive stickshift on his car. Time I got a feel for the power & the 5.0 sound, I was hooked even harder. To make a long story short, I didn't get to own one until about 4 years ago. I love the terminators & I hope to own one someday, but, it will be in addition to my fox. The fox has a style, look, & feel that is unmatched in any other car. I've driven many other mustangs, & none feel as good as a built fox. Sure, there the newer cars may have cupholders...big deal...stick your mountain dew between the e-brake & passenger seat. So what if the new termi's can put down 600+ & still get 25mpg....it still doesn't sound as good as a built 5.0. Someday, good Lord willing, I'll have my dream garage - a blown black on black 93 Cobra, a black KB Terminator coupe, & a black KB Lightning....someone loan me some money......please?

unlike newer cars, the foxbody mustang had/has soul. it may creak, rattle, not handle, not be as fast as other cars nowadays, but i'll take it over a new car! :patriot:
Got my first car 1 month before my 15th bday and it was a red 1989 fox coupe - aod with 2.73 gears! Drove it all through high school and some of college. Traded it in for the red turd (1997 Mustang GT) b/c i needed a dependable ride in college and it was a manual. Stumbled on the silver coupe for sale one friday afternoon while helping my buddy do some landscaping and bought it the next wednesday.

I was raised around muscle cars more Fords then anything I always loved them. I would just sit in and wonder would I ever have my own one day when dad was cleaning one up and working on them. I Loved his old 69-70 Mach 1's and 70 Torinos. But the Mustangs always turned my head and then growing up in the era of the Fox I would always look at them and then in High school dreamed of having one. The grey one I have is my 15th Mustang and I am keeping this one cause I have passed the pasion to my son which he loves the 1989 LX I have now and my dad, my son, and a few freinds have been the ones to build it so its a family car now. I guess the foxbodies are just a breed of there own and its takes that FOX person to love them!

Mine started when I was looking for my first car that "I" bought and not one influenced by my parents at the age of 16. I worked my ass off for over a year at Winn-Dixie as a bagger and my last year of H.S. I bought my 89 GT. It was sitting at the Caddy dealer on a local trade in. It had 43,000 miles when I bought it, one owner elderly man that used it to drive to the local golf courses and to his doctors office. I still have it. Last year was the first year I actually started to modify it at all. I am enjoying the car now as much as I was when I first got the car in H.S.
