When I got home last night I heard a short hissing sound, like steam would do when leaking under pressure and looked and found a little coolant dripping under the car. Well, as things would have it by the time I got under there with a light it had stopped and here is what I found, and did not find:

Saw where some collant sprayed/dripped on some of the wires directly under the drivers side almost underneath where the PS reservoir to where the thermostat are. However, there was no, I repeat NO coolant what so ever around, on or under the thermostat, hoses or water pump. All dry as can be. Lower radiator hose had some ( little drip at the lowest center of gravity) but no run marks down it like it would if it had leaked from the end where it is clamped. So, I ran the car to operating temps after filling the radiator and the overflow( Rad was 3/4 low and none in the over flow. Car is always at a constant 185 deg. after running the car AND sitting under it as it was running no leaks, period.

Anyone have any idea where it may have leaked from? What is under the car that I overlooked? apparently it is doing this more than this one time as the radiator was filled beginning of Aug with a new thermostat and now it was 3/4 full with an empty overflow bottle.

and the car is stock except Goodyear Blue hoses, car has 212000 miles, block less than 100000 miles per the prior owner.

See if you can rent or borrow a coolant pressure tester. Its probably the best tool I have bought in a good long time.

yeah get yourself a coolant pressure tester and pump it to about 15psi at the most and it will start leaking if theres a leak.....

Well I think I found the issue. Car was dripping when I stopped for gas this morning. Looked to be driping down from one of the 2 smaller black hoses that attach to the water pump on top close to the thermostat. Could not tell for sure or even which one. Gonna get some replacement hose and see. Still may go ahead and get a pressure tester anyways.

Those 2 are form fitted. You will need replacement hoses, not just some 5/8 heater hose.

Got pressure tester and hose. Now I get to wait till I get home to muck with it. :sad1:
