Ok, seems like a stupid question, but let me explain. I know its a t5. 1991 model. I put a 23tooth speedo gear in to correct for 4.10s even though I knew it would still be off a little. I was changing my speed sensor and cable and came to find out most of the teeth on my speedo gear are ripped out. Looking at this in true disbelief, I looked at my drive gear to find that its an off white color. So this isn't the original trans. Can someone tell me what trans I have if it indeed has 6 teeth on the drive gear and considering the color too? I want to correct my speed, but I have no clue what trans I even have in my car. 4cyl or v8 t5? It should've been a WCt5 but it's odviously not or it would have had a 8 tooth drive gear. Any help is appreciated.

Now if you really want to change the internal drive gear of your manual tranny you can match it according to the table below. Be aware that the 6 tooth will offer the most combos for numerically higher gear ratios and offer the greatest degree of accuracy. The 6 tooth gear selection table for a manual tranny is the first in the page.

I have always used this site for identifying T-5's. http://www.5speeds.com/t5/
