Well I go and pick up a trans from a guy off C.L today.Guy seems nice and honest about the trans.Said he pulled it out of a wrecked car didnt have alot of miles on it... It was a 1997 gt.Well I put the trans in and it want go into 5th or rev..Sounds like you dont even have the clutch in when you try to put it in 5th or rev

Could be something simple like the shift fork. They are the same fork.

On jackstands or on the street?? If the wheels are moving and you try reverse, its going to grind. I know 5th and reverse are both syncronized in the T45, they might be worn out...

after walking off for a min... came back jacked the car back up... and when you push the clutch in the shift fork jumps over a little... i hope this is the problem.. the guy told me the car was hit hard in the front and parted out hops so ..

I'm always weary of buying a used t-5/t-45 etc... Way too easy to trash them.

Shame my wife's 98 gt is totaled... good engine/ t-45/8.8 disc rear/1 18x9 FR500 2 18X10 FR500's,03 10th anniversary cobra steering wheel,01' 13" Bullitt brakes,etc... but it'll be going to the scrap heap unless they want to sell it back to me CHEAP.

let me know if you get it back.... need a trans and wheels... got rev to work my working with the clutch fork.... as for 5th goes into 5th witht the shift just sounds like theres no **** teeth there lol
