Ok guys and gals,
My wife and I are thinking about moving to S.C. or N.C. I have lived in Spartanburg and around Inman. Not looking to go back there. More of nice views, ocean, close to a suburb. What are some good places to look?
Thanks in advance!

in Beaufort county is nice. Plenty to do, beaches and lots of cool historical stuff to see. Kinda high, but it's worth it. If you like seafood and not really having a winter, it's the place.

Yeah...depends on what you're wantin' to do with your spare time as far as where you're gonna choose to live if you're sayin' the whole state is open, ie;
*Wantin' to have quick access to the Atlantic Ocean?
*Want the cooler weather & like the thought of hills?
*Several area provide a lot of history & are real picturesque
*Lookin' to hide where n/body can find you...plenty of them thar spots! :)
*Etc...

If you like humidity & low paying jobs, come to myrtle beach.

I grew up north of Charleston in a little town named Goose Creek. I liked it there, and not too far from the beach.
My Brother lives in Rock Hill, SC up near the border with
Charlotte, NC. Not near the beaches, but I've liked what I've seen on a few visits.
Spent a lot of time in the Beaufort SC area growing up as well, and really liked it down there.
Good luck no matter which way you decide. I wish I still lived in SC !

Next time you visit your brother let me know, I'm only about 10-15 minutes from Rock Hill. Hell, go out the subdivision, and make a right and go not even an 1/8 mile and I'm in SC from the house up here in Charlotte.

I have lived in SC all my life. Most of it spent on the Spartanburg end... Duncan/Lyman to be exact. ... moved to the Greenville end when Scott and I met... I love SC!!
Have family and EX family that live in NC... the Grover area... nice little area from what time I spent there in years past.
Spartanburg has GROWN by leaps and bounds in the last few years much like any area you may decide on in SC. Greenville has NEVER stopped growning.. God how I hate this place!! I long to be back on my old turf!!
I know it is prob not much help to you here, but if you decide SC, Spartanburg/Greenville area is not too far from Mountains and/or Beaches that you couldnt take a day to enjoy either.
Maybe take a weekend to visit the areas you have in mind and that would help you decide.
