okay, My car has just recently starting something that I cant fully understand, and dont know if I should or shouldn't be concerned. (I've never seen this before.)

Lets say I'm driving to greenville from Easley, car runs great, temperature gauge stays on the cool side goes not much higher than the first mark (which is normally how the car stays) on the temp gauge. Say a hour or so later I come out to head back home in Easley, car then goes to the middle mark on the temp gauge, with windows down kind of smells like its getting warm, but the gauge never go's higher than the halfway point. So I pulled over to check things out, (car has electic fan) fan seems to be running good, but nothing out of the ordinary can be seen.

Once I got home I checked the oil, radiator fluid etc. etc. looking for signs of a blown head gasket but have not pin pointed any signs supporting a blown head gasket.

Have any of you had this problem??? Whats going on??? Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :thumbsup1:

X2 what the guys above said. Plus you may have a air pocket in your line. Also check your Rad. Cap if its bad it will make to heat up and down like that too.

thanks guys, I just recently done a cam and intake swap so the during the process i put a brand spanking new thermostat in it. I'll look into the radiator cap. As far as the fan, I'm been kind of wondering about that as well.

Any other ideas??

Stock gauge or aftermarket temp gauge?

stock gauge, before I go crazy looking at everying, I'm going to install some Gauges (water temp, and oil gauge) Then I'll take it from there, I talked to my friend that I bought the car from and we agreed that would be a good way to go since I wanted some gauges anyway, and since these old factory gauges could just be going bad.
