Very hard to tell from the pictures. I would consider using something other than one of the Alpahbet Cams. You get more out of them.

well its free so im gonna put its in my car now and i plan on building either a 306 or 347s here in the near future just according to financial status at the time but the lobes and journals look to be ok on it dont see no wear at all, really looks new

just put one in mine just the other weekend. I like it so far seems to really kick in around 3000+, has a nice mean sound. I added a B-cam and a GT40 intake together.

I had a similar situation as you, I already had the GT40 intake just sitting around and got a good deal on a b-cam, so I went ahead and put it in.:thumbsup1::yes1:

I'm planning on a complete rebuild soon or another motor, just wanted to play around a little.

Good luck:thumbsup1:

It's pretty dang lopey:yes1: The b-cam sure sounds like you've got more than you actually do. I've stopped at a few gas stations to pick up some drinks and stuff and everytime I come out and someone hears the car you have to stand there and talk a little bit. (Same ole story told everytime, just a intake, a little cam, and exhaust:lol1::lol1:)

I've still got a little tuning to do though, I've got the timing right, but I'm still getting a little idle surge, gonna work on that next.

LOL yeah I should get some video clips:yes1::lol1:

1.7's would work (if you get the right ones, be careful, I've looked at several different kinds, if you get them make sure they will work before purchasing:yes1:) However, I'm gonna wait on roller rockers until I decide on what I want to do with the motor next, heads? complete rebuild? new motor? Havent decided yet.

You should really like it though, like I said before I like it pretty good.:yes1:
It will hold me over until I decide what I really want to do:yes1::lol1:

It was a fun weekend project putting all that stuff in.:yes1::thumbsup1:

good luck:yes1::thumbsup1:

Hey 5.0, I think Bizaro did a sticky on this with sound clips to help us choose. From what I am told by Thumper Performance out of Miami Fl, a b cam with the gt40p heads shold really do a good job. A good set of springs for those heads wold be a good investment when you do the new 1.7 roller rockers. BTW I have a set for sale brand new from thumper's shop......

Anyhting more than a 1.6 should be checked for Piston to Valve Clearance for safety. It should clear but have it checked before starting the motor. Better safe than sorry.

B cam with 1.7's, equals a TFS stage 1 basically. It will clear with no problems, unless the heads have been milled a lot.

The bcam and 1.7s are like peanut butter and jelly, they should never be separated IMO. I change and always end up going back in my street car.

i hear that im probally gonna throw in that b 303 and set of lifts because late ron im wanting to build a stroker and ill go with a t/f or comp cam something with some BIG lift possibly a anderson

Badass1993
08-31-2009, 11:56 PM
Id throw it in for the time being, and with a stroker, you are gonna need more lift and duration to fill the cylinders up
