I bought this 3550 (used) a few years ago installed it and it has never been right. I just dropped the rear end out of my car today and it needs a clutch bad. So I was thinking now would be a good time to figure out what is up with the tranny. The og symptoms were trouble down shifting from 3rd to second then it would not go into first without grinding. It wouldn't go into second under a hard load.......Fast forward a few years and the problem changed. it still won't go into second under a load but now it downshifts fine. And sometimes it is hard to find first. You just have to stab @ it three or four times and it goes. I guess I'm going to go ahead and put a new clutch in this thing and change the gear in the rear which is going to just about tap me out. I am just hoping maybe someone can check this thing out and if it's not to much fix it. Or I may just try and find me a good t5. anyone have any advice or can you help????
