Finally got it home, the guy has supposed to be bringing it for three weeks but never did so I finally just went and got it. I hadnt saw the car upclose before but I must say its better than I expected. I didn't figure the car had any interior in it for what I paid for it but the interior isn't bad. He is supposed to be bringing me the door panels too. Im gonna put a 460 stroked to a 557 with a C6 behind it. Throw on a nice set of alum. heads and it should make some nice power and torque. What do ya think? Did I get screwed for two hundread bucks?

Find out what he wants for them. That wasn't really the route I was planning on going but if the price was right I might change my mind.

There are plenty of 4 eye 4 banger cars to cut up, or swap in an 5.0EFI into this one and BBF the other 4 eye you have.

The two other 4 eyes he has is a 85 GT and a 79 or 80 original 5.0 car.....wouldn't swap a 460 in either one of those.......if they were my cars. Best of luck Jeff with whichever way you decide.

Yeah the 85 and 79 are pretty much all original. I wouldn't wanna mess either one of them up. I don't it would be cool to have a factory EFI 86 coupe. I don't know, decisions, decisions.

Well, just take your time deciding. Look at it this way.....you have a roller 86 coupe that needs a lot of work, so if you go big block its not like your cutting up a pristine coupe. You'll end up spending more $$$$ trying to restore it in the long run than your original plan. Don't sweat it.....drop that Big Block in there and have some fun!!!!!!! :3gears:

My biggest question is what did you do for the brakes with the booster clearance issue, I've heard people say go manual, Ive saw one set of motor mounts advertised that supposedly lets you use the stock brakes. Im just not sure which route to go.

Are these later model doors? They look right but I know the drivers side has been changed because it came off a black car. The production sticker in the door says 88 but best I can tell the left and right door are the same. Are they later models? I thought part of the trip was diferent or something. I know you have to change something to make it look right if you wanna change the 1/4 windows to the later style.

On georges car he used the upr manual brake adapter... He also added a line lock while we were redoing the lines! The only other thing we did was change over to 5 lug! The easy way of getting the big block to fit wouls be to use a upr k member and get the hooker swap kit!!! Thats the set up im going to use when i convert my capri to big block!!!!

Maybe I was looking at the number wrong but I could have swore it said 7/88 on the production sticker, who knows. Does he have plenty of brakes with the manual? Im not worried about having to push a little extra hard I just wanna be sure I have enough brakes to stop it.
you can change the trim in the doors and make them work, but it is a lot of work. some holes have to be filled below the dew wipe.

Yeah I read up on it when I was thinking about swapping out the ones in the 85. They just look so much cleaner with the newer style windows, but it is a PITA.

Project Big Block Fox is about to start rolling, I've got a racer ticket for pinks and just about four months to build it, test it, and run it. Just worked out a trade for a 460 block and everything I need to put it in. More details to come.

Nice haul. Good thing you went last night instead of tonight - pretty nasty out (here, anyway). Now while it's bad outside, you get to play with the new toys inside! The roller rockers are on the small heads, aren't they? 1.6's or 1.7's? Make for a nice upgrade for one of the other cars?
Wish I lived closer - I'd like to offer a second pair of hands for your project.

Yeap that is a set of small block heads. Im gonna build a 302 or 306 for my 85 T-top roller and slap them on top. I know Im about to head downstairs and unload everything that I can by myself. I wish I had the car pushed inside so I could start working on it! That comes sunday though.

So as much as I hate to say it there is NO WAY in hell the coupe will be ready by april. Looks like Im gonna run the camaro at pinks:sad1:. But don't worry the coupe will be in action in October at Bristol Pinks All Out! I think nine months to build a car from the ground up is a little more reasonable than two and a half. After I sat down and figured up everything that had to be done and bought there is just no hope.

Did a little work on her finally. The sanding I did the other day, cleaned under neath a little and added some fresh paint today. I didn't take too many pains its not gonna be a show car or anything but I figured black would look better than rusty if someone happened to look underneath her.
I hope to get the other side sanded next week. I got the gas tank bolts soaking in some pb blaster that is gonna be the next chore. I hope to get everything done that I need it on the lift for so I can get it moved to my basement and start tearing it apart to make way for new parts.
