Is there anyway to crimp the springs on my car now to make it lower?
Or do I have to buy aftermarket springs?
I really don't want anything to drastic or expensive lol.

IMO, your best bet would be pick up a set of Aftermarket springs. OR A set of 4cyl spings would lower it a little bit too. I would stay away from cut or modified springs though, it just wouldn't sit well with me if I was riding on springs I cut up. Just my $0.02

I don't have any info on crimping the springs, but, IMO, do it once, & do it right. In my experience, its better to just bite the bullet & get the good stuff. If you buy a part that isn't exactly what you want or need, then its gonna do nothing but cause you problems...then you have to spend more money on the better or correct part. Now you're in double or triple your original cost. If you still have stock shocks & struts, replace them with new while you're doing the springs. Ride & handling will suffer with worn out shocks & struts on stiffer springs.

Ok, thanks for the help.
So what are probably the best springs to get?

I have H&R sport springs & Bilstein shocks/struts on mine. I love it. Its got the perfect balance of ride quality, handling, & my car finally has the ride height i want. My brother has Eibach pro-kit's on his 97 cobra - they ride decent & handle nice. Its hard to compare them though since they're different bodystyles. A friend of mine had Steeda springs on her 96 Cobra & switched them out for H&R's....the difference was night & day. The steeda's rode rough as a shopping cart. I don't have any other spring experience on a fox though, sorry.

I found some "Ford Motor Sport "Super Sports" lowering handling springs kit" for $100 brand new. I talked to the guy and he said they would lower my car about an inch and make it handle extremely well.
thoughts?
I think he said he ordered them from jegs..

From a purely COSMETIC standpoint, an inch isn't worth a hill of beans, soooooo that being said, are you after a different LOOK, or different RIDE? 1 1/2" is what I've got mine lowered for w/ever it's worth.

cut springs dont make a bit of diff. my car rides the same now, as it did before, it handles just like it did before. if you cut the springs rite, then you have nothing to worry about. i know a lot of people are against cuttin springs, but its not as bad as everybody thinks....... and if you decide to cut them and dont like how they ride, then buy aftermarket ones, it does not take long to do a spring swap

So how do I cut my springs? Just measure and then chop 'em off?

From what I u/stand on cuttin' 'em, yeah...measure & cut. Use a grinding wheel and you can get right through them in a few short minutes I'm told. I'm thinking about cuttin' my new springs down a little bit more myself, and the fellow who'd be helping me out with it had shared that with me on Saturday.
When you measure, don't make the costly mistake of thinking 1 turn = 1" :)

i would cut 3/4 coil out and test fit.

yea, we cut about a half a coil off, put it back it, then we cut about a coil and a half off (we had some spare coils) put the secound one in, and i decided which on i like better, then we went back and cut the first spring to match the secound spring. if you decided to cut them, DO NOT USE A SAWZAW, like notched said, use a grinding wheel. it will make your life a lot easer.

Sounds good.. I still haven't had enough time to do it yet.
I was thinking I might try and find a cheap set of springs
so if anything happens or I mess up I have my originals..

Like it was said before if you cut them right you can save some money. But if you want to spend it I have the motorsport C springs on my GT and you can ask Bones it rides great to be lowered. Not sure about handling because I have skinnies on front but when I switch over to the 17's I will let you know
