It is with a heavy heart I am typing this message out. Today is one of the saddest of my life thus far. My beloved Nacona lost his fight for life this morning . As I sit and think back on the many years he brought love and happiness into my life I try to fight back my tears. He was a very gentle soul with nothing but love in his heart. He was a faithful companion, a good listener, gave great tender kisses, loved my children like they were his own, protected us and most of all, loved us no matter what. I know he is at peace now and no longer suffering, that gives me little comfort. Least I know he will be running thru the clouds to see me again one day and now he will howl for all those in heaven.
Rest In Peace my dear sweet boy, I will hold you in my heart forever!

Very sorry to hear that Kelly.:cryingeyesout: Unfortunately I had to go through the same thing a couple weeks ago. It's very, very hard losing your pets.:yes1: I still look over where mine laid all the time, hoping she was still there.
Like you said, at least he is not suffering no more.

i am very sry to hear about your loss. we have had to put down several horses, and dogs in the past. we had a german shepard that, i cant even decribe how awsome this dog was, im sure most of you know the kind. sadly he had liver falure so mom thought it was best to put him down, prob the hardest thing she has ever done. and same for the horses we have had to put down. its a very sad thing, but just think they are running wild and free doing there favorite things and looking down unpon you now.

I have been up and down all day at work after Kelly text me and told me Nacona had passed on. I wanted to run right home, but we were so short handed with people on vacation, and what not; there was just no way for me to leave. I'm sitting here crying now, remember all the fun times I had "boxing" with him and the many rides me and Nacona shared in my old Escort GT. He was just like another son to me, and i'm so gonna miss him! I still have to hard job of laying him to rest this afternoon.
Go run and play in the clouds my boy, mommy and daddy will see you again one day!!

I sure hat to hear that, and yall are definitely in my thoughts. I too know how you feel after "Athena" my lab/chow/sheppard of 16 years passed away last Spring during the Daytona 500. We were all deeply touched by her, and she was a wonderful family pet for many years. The way that I was able to be strong for the kids was to focus on the great times we had shared rather than her passing. It seemed very theraputic not only for me, but for the rest of the family as well. Just knowing that we have a chance to be reunited with wonderful friends at some point later is always enough to bring a smile to a sad time. If I can do anything for yall, please let me know...

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you Kelly and Bones. I'm sitting here crying right now because I know how awful it feels to loose a furry family member. :sad1: Hugs for both of you, and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

If it were up to me they would live as long as I did so that they wouldnt have to go alone, I am soo sorry man. I just lost my black lab of 16 years a few months ago, Hardest day of my life for sure. People deserve to die, dogs dont! They are as much blood as my brother is and they would give their lives without hesitation, they deserve a much longer life than god blessed them with. My heart goes out to all of you!

Thanks Ash. Yes, he was beautiful and so are the other 8 but none of them will EVER come close to Nacona. He was and will always be my baby boy.

Thanks for all the kind words. I know some of you may think I may be crazy for feeling this way over ... "A DOG" as I have heard people say.... he wasnt just a dog.. he was my baby. I have said before, if we have an animal soul mate, Nacona was mine. He was like no other animal I have ever seen... never a more loving soul has God allowed me time with. For me, his life ended far to soon and my heart is still cold and broken ... I cant even go outside without fighting back tears. I have 6 of his pups here with me & they have many of his traits but I know they will never measure up to him. He was my once in a lifetime and now all I have are pictures and memories but all I really want is my boy back.

Kelly, your not crazy for feeling the way you do over a dog, or any other pet. IMO pets become part of the family, just like children, even worse. Because a pet relies on you every day to feed them and take care of them their whole life. They bring so much love and enjoyment into our lives. All I can say, if someone says your crazy for feeling that way, the hell with them, and give them one of these for me:finger::thumbsup1:

THANKS!!! No one has ever said that to me or even about me where I could hear them.. dont think it would be wise of them and most folks know that. Its just what I have heard in general from people who dont feel the same as some of us about our fur babies. It is really nice to see that there are others who love animals/pets/fur babies or as I call them FAMILY the same as I do. They are more loving than any human and deserve to be treated and loved as they give it... UNCONDITIONALLY!!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your girl can have the surgery to remove the tumor. I found s cherry one my nana's yorkie.. made Mom take her to our vet... was cancer. they did the surgery, removed all her mam glands and she did fine. I hope that you baby can be helped like nana's was. please keep me posted, I will have you all in my thoughts and prayers.
