I know most of you have seen my post for the various parts needed for my 91 LX. While my BIG turbo engine is in the works I decided to try my hand at a smaller nitrous motor. As of last nite all parts are in place and the little screamer came to life. Its a 331 with all forged internals, a nasty custom grind cam with top secret specs, AFR 185 heads, an AED 750 carb and a LARGE quantity of nitrous. Had some charging issues at start-up but those were fixed and now I can't wait to tear out off the transbrake with a 300 shot out the gate!!! I just had to share that with everybody!!!!! I will keep you all posted on how it turns out at the track. :thumbsup1:

Wow, 300 off the transbrake, how you have some good tires, axles and transmission. Why no progressive controller??

Everythings there, 28/10.5's with bout 10 passes, Strange axles, and the transmission is built to take the hp and it has a custom Nitrous converter. Not going with the progressive controller because I don't want it to get TOO expensive since it won't be in there long.

You should have someone video your first pass, because if there are any weak links that 300 shot will find em. Good luck and enjoy the ride because it won't last but a few seconds :lol1:

Drove the Mustang around last night and found that it wants to load up from a dead stop. Doesnt matter if its off the foot brake or the transbrake when I put the hammer down it sputters and hesitates for 20ft or so then it takes off like it was shoot out of a cannon. Took the 750 AED off, tried a Holley 850 and a Holley 750 which seems to work best. All this was done on motor, haven't tried the nitrous yet. Going to the track tonight to play with the carbs alittle and see which really works best. I think I'm getting too much fuel so I'm going to try a 650 tonight, just didn't have time last night. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

size of carb = 100 cfm for every 1000 rpm's your peaking at 6500 to 7000 a 650 or a leaned out 750. check your plugs after a pass to make sure you are not runing to lean or to rich . they should be med brown . good luck :patriot:

Going to try a 650 tonight. Still have all the electronics for the turbo engine installed so I have been keeping and eye on the air fuel ratio with my LM-1 wideband meter. Numbers look best with the Holley 750 so Im trying it first tonight. :thumbsup1:

 Car ran like crap last night. Best it would do on motor was 7.9's It pulls harder through 2nd and 3rd than the turbo motor did but it just stumbles in 1st. I changed the MSD box, coil, plugs, carburator, cap, and rotor but it still does it. Going to work with the timing and possibly go back to the old stall because I'm just not quite sure bout this custom one. I miss the turbo already!!!
