Fall Track Day Ideas!!

Alright gang I'm going to set up our fall track day. I need everyones input on where you want to have it, when you want to have it ( month), car show also at the track etc etc etc. Lets get it started

I think a car show would be good to bring out the guys that dont wanna run there cars. As for the month September is PACKED for me between rod run, shades of the past, my show, then NMRA the first week in october. October isn't much better. First week in november sucks too there is a big local show in Cherokee. I vote for the 2nd week in November if there are any tracks open that late. I aint scared of cold weather, cold equals big times!!

As for a track it doesn't matter to me everything is within two or three hours for me so i don't care or run fast enough that it really matters.

Piedmont would be great, 5 miles from home. Farmington is a drive, I can make it, but I might not drive and run my car. Farther from there I deff. will not run my car unless I get my truck back together and buy a trailer, which is looking promissing.

This is where we won't be making everyone happy, because there is no place in the middle, for NC & SC members.

At least a 2 1/2 hour ride for me to Ware Shoals, and the same for some of the SC members to make it to Mooresville. So there is no happy medium.:sad1:

yea, everyone can stay at my moms house down in Destin, about a 30 min. drive from the track!.... all we gota do is convince the person that is renting the house from her to let us stay!:yes1: you can hear the waves from the house! :thumbsup1:

One friday night at whareshoals just get a big group together and plan on going, same at one of the NC tracks on a different night. If you can make it to both sweet, if not at least you got two times to choose from. Maybe even get more money that way for the club:thumbsup1:

i dont know about you guys but after that last track day i was so exhausted from all night dyno trashing... last minute tear downs an then the 12 hours of *174 heat.... there was no way in hell i could do two days back to back of that!!

Hell, Bones wanted to give me S@^%^ about not driving my car to the QS&L THE VERY NEXT FREAKING DAY!?!?!?
THE WORDS EXHAUSTION COME TO MIND when i think of the last track day! :yes1:


In a perfect world i would love for the TRACK DAY events to turn into something BIG..... like say a small FFW!?!?... i think if we could ralley up enough people " even from other sites! "an possibly talk a few small venders into coming out an seting up " ie some of the local guys " then it could be a AWESOME EVENT!... an THEN maybe at that point we prob. need to consider adding a day.

but without a doubt we need to nail down a track that would be FUN for everyone, Easy on the budget, in the middle grounds for everyone to travel to, an in a time of year that would make sence for everyone!

~ that alone is NOT a easy task to pull off!~

A good idea, but with flaws.

Are we supposed to rent two tracks? How could you have a car show, at a tracks T&T night? How do we raise money for the club, or charity?

If we just had people show up at track A on one night, and track B on another. The track will be making all the money. So where would the money for the club/charity come from?

Think if we had one closer to SC last time better to do the NC/VA guys the next.....do a spring and fall track day...like some other places.


Be nice if we could go to a sponsor and ask them to help with our track day like I said ealier, Maybe Roush? or someone to help split the cost of the Track Rental. That way we could get more money in for the charity, Maybe the Hot Rod Shop Guys could help out with it. If you do a close track to them they might bring a good crowd with them.

Still like the idea of Mooresville. Always heard good things about them......

Even if it don't happen this year lets start planning now for next spring early before it gets HOT and then the Fall Event....

You would have to talk to the tracks but maybe they would consider a portion of the gate to go to the club. The only reason i thought it might work is you wouldnt have to go to both if you didnt wont to or couldnt. Plus if the tracks would give a portion of the gate that would = more money. As for the car show its cool and all but track day is all about the track, just my two cents but i will try to go where ever

Just to give everybody a heads up. We have tried several different tracks and with their schudules and other events planned for the rest of this year we arent going to be able to have another track day this year. We will start planning for a spring track day very soon.

Why dont we just pick a track and a day that they are doing something and head out.. Doesnt have to be our day, but maybe a few grills and......I dont know which track you can tailgate at tho.
