My wife & I are really getting tired of the insane humidity, rising cost of living, & low pay here at the beach. We've been thinking about moving, but, we really don't have any idea where else we'd like to live. I'm born & raised here at the beach, & she is from hickory, nc. I'm not a fan of hickory, so thats out of the question. I'd also like to stay in sc because of my band. I like being out in the country, but, not so far out that it takes you forever to go to wallyworld. Any suggestions?

Not sure what type of career you and your other half are in but the upstate of SC is a nice place to live. I live in Williamston which is between Anderson and Greenville. I'm 5 min from I-85 and there are walmarts everywhere up here, just ask my wife lol. Taxes are that bad and plus you will have me, Bones and a few others on here to hang out with!!!!

I'm a drummer & my wife has been a property manager for a resort in myrtle beach for about 5 years. Before that, she was a cardiac monitor tech at the hospital.

Any snow up there? I hate snow & ice.

I used to live in West Palm Beach, FL for over 25 years and my wife and I moved to the Greenville metro area been here 3 years and love it! As far as snow, it has snowed 2 times in 3 winters.......just for one day and did not affect the roads all that much. Plus what KB said,.......you got Bones and him plus some others up this way.....housing is good, schools are good, tons of things to do places to see and lots of curvy roads to drive on!! :thumbsup1:

thanks for the input y'all. we were actually thinking about somewhere mid/upstate. I don't like the big city. I generally make too much noise for close neighbors lol. Any more opinions?

Greer has it's moments for a teenager but it's mostly the same old stuff but just a different day

I have to give a +1 on the Upstate Area. Plenty of venues for your band(s) to play at up here. We are four hours to Myrtle, Hour or less to the Mountains, three 1/8 mile drag strips with in an hours drive, along with two 1/4 mile tracks now with in an hour and a half. Plus just look though any of my photo albums, That in it's self should give ya'll enough reason to move up here..hehehe:thumbsup1:
