Last week, I had the chance to buy a 2003 GT convertible, and so I jumped on the idea. I personally know the owner, he is my boyfriends brother in law, so I know the car has been kept well and I have drove the car before. But, the downside of the whole deal is I had to sell my 2004 40th Anniversary V6. My baby, the first mustang I bought right out of high school. I was so proud of that car. You never see them around, and I just kept it up so well it looked brand new.

I eventually sold the car the day after I put it up on craigslist, and the people that bought it seem to really enjoy it. The only reason I say this is because I work at a bank and they financed it through my bank, so I got to see them today when the title was signed over. He was talking about his wife cleaning it up, just detailing it and stuff, and how much the loved the car and the color and how she was so excited to drive it. The second after he said she was detailing it and all that stuff, it hit me. I miss my car. I know it was a V6, automatic, and not all that fast, but just all the hours i put into cleaning it and detailing it. I truely miss my car. I have never sold a car before, and so I guess this is what it is. I really didnt have to sell my car, I guess I was just bored with the automatic and no speed, and I wanted to help my parents out with them not having to pay insurance anymore. Yes, they paid my insurance, im only 20.

But now that I have my 03 convertible GT, I do love this car. It so fun with the 5 speed, and having the top down is awesome, and the exhaust is killer. I just never thought I would miss a V6 like i am now, I guess its because it was my first stang, it just kinda sucks. I guess its the nostalgia of it all and the memories.

But I just thought I would share with you all the sale of my first car. :sad1: I guess I will just have to love this one too :)

Yeah but if you didn't sell it, you would end up like me, 5 cars and no $$ to put in them...

I remember selling my first Ford Truck. My wife did not understand the tears after the sale. From then on every 68 Ford pickup looks "just like mine". Enjoy teh new stang, but you never forget your first love....

I know where you are coming from girl. I still miss my first car, a 73 Mustang coupe. Even if it was metallic green it was my first.:yes1:

You'll always miss that first taste of freedom that you got from your 1st car. I think it's normal to feel that way. IMO.
But, I'm sorry you're feeling bad. Hope you feel better soon. :)

I remember selling my first car, a 1970 Torino GT. I still think about it now and then, but to be honest I have had several cool cars, 66 Stang, 57 Ford Fairlane 500, and my fav. by far is my 89 vert. For 20 years I wanted a 5.0 vert, and it makes up for all the other by gones.

It does always suck to have to do that. :sad1: When I was single still living with mom and dad, I bought a 2002 Roush Stage 2 mustang. Well in 2005 I got married, bought a house, and well the mustang was sold to ease living and make paying bills a little easier. I have regreted selling that car ever since.

sorry about that but give it time and I think that the 03 will feel the gap that you have with your first car it may never be like your first car but it never is but I feel that you will come around on the car

[i know how you feel i sold my 89 mustang about 10 years ago the motor had locked up on me so it was parked , the body and inside mint, i had alot of plans for that car but i was a single mom with 2 kids and no child suport, had a good job but ,and i had bought my 94 gt that i have now, but an old guy keep buging me wanting the 89 for at least a year .and then my mom wanted to take my kids to the beach with her by could,nt aford the extra mouths to feed and let them have fun so i sold my 89 to send my kids on a vacation they deserved..it still haunts me to this day because as far as i know he really did'nt do any thing to the car just let it sit is what i heard. but i did what i had to do for my girls..some time's you just have to do what you can even if it sucks...

I cried after I sold my broken down POS '89 F-150 earlier this year. It's funny how attached you can become to a vehicle...

I had a 94 Gt vert. Tripple black 5spd, Cobra brakes etc... I miss it at times too.
