Discuss!! How are gas prices and supply in your area??? Around here there are stations out of gas, only have 93 octane, or getting low. Prices are climbing. And I heard tonight that it will be close to OR OVER $5.00 be morning time!!!

Funny how Crude Oil prices dropped $100 a barrel and now our costs start climbing. Fing gas companies!!!!!!!!!!!! If this keeps up, our plans for events will be cut WAY BACK. Kelly is already on me about canceling the trip to Asheville for the Pony Run Saturday. :sad1:

How is it where you live??

It's f**king ridiculous! Just another way for the gas companies to screw us again......just like they have been doing since Katrina......and Ike hasn't even hit yet!! Gas was at 3.29 right before Labor day, then it went up 10 cents overnight......now since they think Ike is going to do some damage--not that it has yet......they are jacking it up.....one gas station was 3.39 this morning......then it went to 3.81 on the way home....someone should take these theives and give em a :bat::bat:

By the way.....my daughter just got home from work and at the gas stations Woodruff rd and Batesville......3.59 for regular

It's $3.68 around the corner at Sunoco. I remember after Katrina when you guys were paying close to $5 a gallon, if you could find it. It didn't change down here. Up there you have to worry about the pipeline getting hurt in the storm. Down here they bring it in on a ship.

Well I went to the BP in WIlliamston tonight and after waiting in line for 30 min I could only pump 10 gallons. I'm having to drive my 92 which only takes 93 octane. Well tonight it was $3.81. The clerk said in the morning 93 would be $4.70. This sucks. Depends on gas if I go sat or not. Not looing good right now

in Batesburg yesterday gas was around 3.59... today Angie was down town about 5:30 both the BP and Hexxon were 3.79.....an hour and a half later when I came thru they were 3.99....... us and our friend Matt were going to the "run" but like Kelly sez ....the family comes first .... we will be saving the $ for the mtn run and the family day at the zoo

I understand how "supply and demand" makes prices fluctuate... but this is gouging if you ask me...

It went up 10cent here haven't seen it any higher than 3.69. Its BULL$H!T, the fuel INSIDE the tank hasn't turned into gold overnight, the price should not go up until the tanker comes with either lower, lol or the most likely higher priced fuel. We went to Mustang Week and from that day light sweet crude has done NOTHING but go DOWN!!!! I hate it because when fuel prices go up, people don't drive, when people don't drive, cars don't break, when cars don't break I don't fix them and finally when I don't fix cars I DON'T GET PAID!!!!!

Just got off the phone with my friend in Charlotte, he just paid $3.59 in Rock Hill, SC about an hour ago.

Report from Asheville:

Well the news is reporting a gas shortage so everyone has made a run on the pumps. I was really out and I had to stop at 3 gas stations this morning before I found any grade of gas!!!

How is there a gas shortage? The hurricane hasn't even made landfall! They're just trying to make money. This is rediculous!

My wife called and told me gas was already over 4.00 a gallon here so it does'nt look like I'll be going on the pony run tomorrow,I really wanted to go but at 4.00 a gallon I'll spend at least 75.00 to 100.00 just in gas and thats not in the budget this week.

Just filled my stang up here in Swannanoa 3.99 for 93 octane OUCH.I really hate to see this keep a lot of you guys from comming up.This is gonna be the event of the year.If you think about it gas will average 50cents more a gallon. That comes to about $7.50 for 15 gallons. You can save that much by bringing your own drinks and food.

The shortage comes from the news reporting a shortage then everyone hits the station which causes an artificial shortage. You would think the news outlets had a cut of the sells the way they push this crap.

4 gas stations at the exit where I work (Weaverville 5 min north of Asheville) are out of gas. The last price on the signs were 4.20 gal for 87 oct.

This is stupid, I bet half the people getting gas have half a tank or more already.

You can report price gouging to the local police. NC govenor enacted a law today that has been around for a few years so that this does not happen. unfortunately I live in NC but the nearest gas stations are in SC. I live on the border. Anyway everyone have fun staying at home this weekend!!

ya we started getting reports at lunch time of long lines at the gas stations here in eastern nc. I know when I went to work this morning it was 3.63 for 87 and now when I got off work it was 3.99. we have reports around us that some places are already over 5.00.

what happened was they shut down the refineries in tx for the hurricane and people freaked thinking there would be no gas.

The SC Lt Gov said in a news statement today ... that TX has declared a state of emergency and any station price gouging needs to be reported..... there are atleast 2 stations already that have been visited and shut down the state .... looks like some more need to be reported .... I also posted a question over on United Stangs asking how Ike is effecting everyone elses gas..... I know it's subject to change ... but so far the ONES IN TX are reporting VERY LITTLE CHANGE.... looks like all the gougers live in NC and SC

Ok, all the f'in gas station owners who did not get any shipments of gas today but charged over 3.59 a gallon need to go to jail or better yet, let me at em :bat: I went to work this morning, 3 gas stations I passed here in Greenville was 3.59-3.49-3.59. Most of the gas stations in Powdersville, Easley and Pickens were 3.59 except the "Pumpers" who were 3.81 last night and $4.27 this morning. on the way home the same gas stations were 3.99 or higher, the Raceway on 153 in Powdersville was 3.64 but had long long lines......needless to say I drove from Pickens to my house on fumes only to get f'ed at the Spinx by my house at 3.99 a gallon, no mint no cigarette no ky...........:thumbsdown1::thumbsdown1::thumbsdown 1:
and I bet after Ike passes and there are no damages it will still take awhile to have the prices drop........jerks!!

Didn't look where it's generally the cheapest, but I DID just get some for the truck 10 minutes ago. Like my son said, these stations are putting COVERS on the cheap gas, and FORCING you to buy either the medium, or high grade.

Now...I put high octane in the Mustang and 2 of my o/cars, but the TRUCK I just put gas in runs on the cheap stuff. BUT...like I said, the cheap gas at this station was covered up, and put in the MEDIUM grade...$4.19 per gallon. The cheap stuff (though not available), was $4.09

Here's a link ya'll appreciate wherEVER you live... http://tinyurl.com/9pck8
...just put in a zip code anywhere in the states, and it shows you the top 30 stations, from high to low in each grade.

It's updated nightly, and there are 90k stations they track. It's really neat if you're travellin', as you can strategize where you're gonna get your gas...whether it would be best to fuel up PRIOR to your trip, or log a few miles and tank up down the road.

For tomorrow, you can bet your sweet bippie that any car event will be cancelled in/around the Houston area! :) Here's a link to the Houston, TX club...nice site with some great lookin' Mustangs! http://www.mcoh.org/

We'll we got a late start this afternoon and we have just gotten settled into our hotel room in Asheville for the Pony Run. Just wanted to post up for any of you who are still on the fence about whether to come up or not. We are staying at the Host hotel in Arden. On the way in @8:30 tonight we only found 1 out of five gas stations that we passed that did not have their pumps roped off. The price was $4.75 for the cheap stuff!! We still have 1/2 a tank but seriuosly considered topping of at 4.75 because we don't know what the morning will bring. We decided to go ahead and make the trip and just eat the xtra cost because we are only 1/2 tank away from home, only problem is now I'm a little concerned whether or not we will be able to find gas!!!! What a LOAD-O-CRAP!! (and the rich get richer!)

I talked to a friend with a gas station that is close by and he said the other problem is that the trucks are only dropping off a third of the normal amounts. He is expecting a truck in the morning so that means several stations should be getting gas but the bad is most people are off on Sat and the stations are only getting a about 1000 gallons which seems to last about an hour.

I don't think anyone will get stuck here but you will have to pay allot more to get out then what it took you to get in.

If anyone does get stuck here call me and I will bring you gas.

Another Update: 6:45am, left the hotel to get breakfast and found a line of 2-3 cars at each pump at the Ingles Station just up from the hotel, pulled in and asked if they indeed got gas last night. The guy in line told me he had seen the tanker leaving and pulled in, didn't take but a few minutes for the cars to start backing up. I went ahead and got in line and filled up at $4.75. If we don't have anything unexpected happen we now have enough to make the Pony Run and still get us home without having to stop again.

One of my friends called me friday on the way to a football game and said gas was $6.12 in Yadkinville, NC. I paid $3.65 at Sams in winston and I ran out of gas waiting in line so my friend and I had to push it in front of like 100 people...it was great.
