If you are having spark knock don't band aid it by running leaded gas, figure out what the real problem is and fix it.

I thought leaded gas doesn't exist anymore.

You can buy it at the race track.

I'm not running leaded gas to fix the problem. I'm wanting to run higher octane gas witch is leaded.
And the only other thing I can do to fix the problem atm is retard the timing

it'll kill them eventually,but not really soon on a 50/50 mix.it's actually a fact that when mixing leaded and unleaded gas that the leaded looses some properties and is not as potent as it was blended.i run into this with my coupe one time when i was mixing it to run nitrous.the dealer told me i needed to run more of the race fuel to eliminate the spark knock if i was mixing it,but i don't know if the same would apply to you or not.

Yes I'm in the same boat and I don't want to pull any timing becoz it runs well on motor and its a auto I was thinking 50/50 or 30/70 somewhere in that ballpark

We have 110 unleaded around here.....As far as the leaded fuel..it will take out the O2's if not mixed..It did on mine. Also so DONT let the man found out you are on the road with leaded fuel..BIG$$$$$ fines.

Knocking (also called knock, detonation, spark knock or pinging) in spark-ignition internal combustion engines occurs when combustion of the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder starts off correctly in response to ignition by the spark plug, but one or more pockets of air/fuel mixture explode outside the envelope of the normal combustion front. The fuel-air charge is meant to be ignited by the spark plug only, and at a precise time in the piston's stroke cycle. The peak of the combustion process no longer occurs at the optimum moment for the four-stroke cycle. The shock wave creates the characteristic metallic "pinging" sound, and cylinder pressure increases dramatically. Effects of engine knocking range from inconsequential to completely destructive. It should not be confused with pre-ignition (or preignition), as they are two separate events.
rattle:a sound made by loose objects shaking or vibrating against one another
knock=rattling?

rattle=slang term for the problem you are having. As 99.9% of anyone who knows anything about a car knew what he meant.....Play nice guys!
