Well I'll start out by saying nitrous will find the weak parts of a car very quickly. I went out to the track a couple weeks ago and decided to play around a lil bit with my nitrous kit. Well I had been noticing the fact that I was losing water and my car would randomly overheat. It would run fine though, no smoke, no water in the oil, no nothin. So I just ran it assuming that maybe when the heads were worked that the water jacket was flowin a wee pit into my cylinder and just blowing the water out the exhaust without being noticeable. Going back to the nitrous thing, I made several passes on the motor and then threw some nitrous to it. It loved every bit of it, so a lil while later I made another pass on the gas and I heard a pop in the rear end when I hit the button. I got out of it and cruised through the lights. It drove fine down the return road all the way to the pits. Later on that night I got ready to go and it wouldn't move a lick, forward or backwards. Something in the rear end was busted. So I had to have a tow truck haul it to the shop so I could have a new rear end put in. Got a new rear end put in and then the transmission went out about a week later. Got that put in and then right before Mustang Week I went out for a ride and it was blowin oil everywhere. I didn't mess with it as I was just so frustrated at that point. So today I go out to see what the problem was and it seems that the nitrous helped find my weak spot in the head gasket, head, or block. I'm going to start tomorrow and find out which of the three things I have. Wish me luck as it hasn't been pretty so far. :headbang:

Well I got the motor broke apart today and the heads to the head shop. Number 4 cylinder was filled with water. The head gasket didn't look to be in bad shape but it doesn't really have to look that bad to be bad. The heads are being cleaned up and resurfaced tomorrow so I'll either tomorrow or the next day for sure if it was for sure the head gasket. Good news is the block looked good and it didn't take me long to break everything apart considering it was my first time. Only took 3 1/2 hours.

Well its now Saturday night/Sunday morning and my heads are still at the head shop. I went by there Friday to check on them and the head guy said they pressure tested fine but had to take .0015 off of them to get the squared back up. Hes gonna check my valve springs too before I get them back. Hopefully he won't charge me an arm and a leg for pressure testing, decking, and possibly replacing valve springs.

Well finally I know the damage. It cost me $475 for the work I had done. I had him test my valve springs as they were weak I knew. Turns out they were bad and he had to replace them. Between that having them milled and pressured tested is how they came up with that figure. Its not really a bad price its just the fact that if I had known that it were going to be that much I would almost had rather just bought a set of aluminum heads and valve train for 900 and been done with it. Oh well car goes back together Saturday.
