I'm thinking about having my car painted. I know you get what you pay for but I was hoping maybe in these economic times we are in I could find someone to do good work @ an afordable price. The car is an 89 lx vert. It is dove gray now. I would like to either paint it a solid brite white or titanium frost (og mustang silver color I think). I know this will involve painting the door and trunk jams I'm not really concerned with under the hood. I've been given an estimate before but to me there just doesn't seem to be alot car there to paint for that money. I could do alot of things like remove the headlights, tail lights, cowl and whatever might make it easier. I have access to a rollback so I could strip it down and haul it to your shop. Give me a ballpark and a refrence or two.

I know but the car is straight. Shouldn't be alot of work. I hit a deer sometime ago and had someone paint the bumper, hood and fender so it would somewhat match. it's close and he did it cheap enough but it sticks out to me. That's really the only reason it needs paint. That and I'm tired of the dove gray.

Painting a car is very labor intensive.

Talk to FastNotch89 he has a fella that has done his last two, they turned out real nice and the guy was pretty quick too... Several good painters here in Greenville but they are slow as christmas......

Thanks for the resposes. I am in Albemarle NC, (pretty much) on the outskirts in New London. A year or two ago I had an estimate of 1800 to do a color change and I know that is not bad for all the work that is involved. It's just will times being the way they are I thought if someone didn't have anything going on maybe they would rather do a job a little cheaper than to not be doing anything. If that makes any sense. If the work is good and I can get out for that or less I'll do it.

1800 is cheap for a paint job especially a color change

Not saying it's a bad price but I'm feeling the money crunch like everyone else.

I forgot to mention. I would love to barter on the labor if possible. I work @ a motorcycle machine shop and we build engines for all sportbikes. If anyone has a bike that needs any work I can trade that out if need be.

If we can ever get together for him to see my car it looks like he may be the one doing it. I'm glad to hear good reviews of his work.
