Wow...VERY low turn out today! The Corvette club that hosts the event each year put on a 1st class event however...
There were $100 bills handed out EVERY 30 MINUTES...nearlly $1000 worth! :) They had small sandwich board signs for parking that helped identify where everyone was to park which was nice keepin' car types together...door prizes gaLORE...50/50 & raffle drawings...music being piped through several loudspeakers throughout the parking lot...about 5 different vendors...FREE bottled water by a company...a local Chevy d'ship had "x" number of Corvettes there to help round out the crowd...loud exhaust contest, dash plaques, bag of "goodies", etc...
Now here's the sad thing...there were only 8 Mustangs in total...EIGHT! I was the ONLY Fox Body to top it off!
The trophies these guys pass out are nice, not some 6" wanna-be trophy :) The hosts are all very gracious, the crowd was nice, the sun was hot and we'll wait till next year to do it again!
I'm sure that some anticipated poor weather and held them off for planning to come...the Clemson ballgame, the Lowes Motor Speedway Auto Fair & the air show just a hop-skip-and a jump were each distractions for some.
