There are probably only 3 or 4 pieces of chrome on the engine, most of what you see is polished aluminum that I did yrs ago.

i would settle for the swiss cheese holes to be filled in and have it smoothed a bit. don't need to make it as perty as yours just cleaner.

I did all the polishing in 2000 except for the Tubular GT-40 that I did in 2006, since that time I've only had to re-polish all the parts once in 8 yrs.

It's not a daily driver which probably has a lot to do with keeping it clean but in the past 8 yrs I've put on about 28,000 on the odometer.

Hiding wires isn't nearly as difficult as you as you think. You can do the passenger side in 4-5 hrs and the drivers side in 7-8 hrs and possibly less time if you want.
