Hope fully we will have a Car Detailing Section soon so this can be move if and when we have it. but for the time being i figured i would stick this in here.

Mods: I’m not trying to sell any of these products for Zaino. I do not mean to break any rules and I apologize if I did. That being said......

So my brother and I "Zainoed" our cars today. I HIGHLY recommend these products to everybody! It took us about 4-5 hours today to do 4 coats.
We started by washing with Dawn. Then we used Zaino brand clay bar. For the lubricant for the bar, we used about a half cap full of Z7 and water. And just clay bar like you normally would. After that, we filled one of the supplied bottles in the ZFX kit with Z2 and a couple drops of the accelerator. Used about a dime size per panel, maybe a little more, maybe a little less. Then we waited 30 min. and then "buffed" off by hand with a micro fiber towel. After that, we went back over the cars with the Z6 Gloss enhancer. Then we mixed up the Z5 with the same accelerator as we used with the Z2. Then we waited 30 min. and "buffed" off with a micro. Same thing as before with the Z6. Then another coat of the Z5 with accelerant. Buffed off by hand, and Z6 after. Then the last coat we put on was the Z2 (with accelerator) waited 30 min. and buffed by hand, then with the Z6. It sounds like a "short" process, but when you do it. it takes a long time. But it was well worth the wait and the process of doing it. The only thing i don’t like about the Zaino is, well the price..... The kit we have was about 200 bucks. And the other is, my brother said i was crazy, but when I put the Z6 on after every coat, it seemed to me to not be as..... "Shinny" as it was before it... But other than that, i love it. Zaino has a number of different products and more detail about the products and what they do can be found on there web site.

The Z5 claims to fill swirl marks and fine scratches.....now it did to a certain extent, but there are still fine scratches on my car. So I will take a PC 7424 to it on a later date.

Products used:
Z2: Show Car Polish.
Z5: Polish for clear-coat and regular finishes.
Z6: Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer
Z7: Show Car wash concentrate
ZFX: Special Effects Accelerator
Mountain Dew: A bunch of it

And the other 2 steps you can really tell the diff. between the other 2 coats, but it is a MAJOR improvement on both of our cars!!!! As I said before, we just did another coat of z5, and finished up with the 4th coat being Z2. With using Z6 in between each coat. If anybody has anything at all to add please feel free to tell me what you think.

This entire post is my opinion about the Zaino products. So it’s not to be taken that this stuff is the best on the market. But, I have never been able to achieve a shine, glossy, and mirror like finish like I have now, from the products you can find at Auto-Zone or Wal-Mart. And I have used a number of them. So IMO Zaino is one of the best, car detailing products on the market.

I've heard good thing about Zaino but its alway been too expensive for me to try.

When I was up in Bellevue, WA for the MCA National, Griot's was there and was letting poeple use their products to try. I used their clay bar and it worked much better than Mother's. I am definitly buying some here soon.

yea i sai said about, thats really the only draw back to zainos is the price. Ive heard of Griots, but i have never tried it. Mothers and stuff like that is great for what i like to call "everyday" use. ya know, your car is lookin a lil dull and you wanna maker her shine, or water aint beadin off like it should etc. but if you wanna get serious with car detailing..... then DONT take a trip to wally world or auto zone, the best products can be found on-line. that you hafta order. no im not bad mouthing mother or other companies by any means, but for my car, Zaino's is the other thing touching it. i have NEVER has a shine, and a water bead like my car does now. Its amazing. you know when you just get gone puttin rainx on your windshield or something like that, and how hard it is ti wash your windows because the water and suds litterally just fall off? well take that, times it by about 100 and thats my whole car now.

With money being the issue, what one product do you recommend I try, Or is it a package deal to get any results to make it worth my time and money? Can the Mtn Dew be replaced with beer?

I have used nothing but Zaino products, from interior to exterior, and it is really not that expensive , if you compare to other products.
I also claybared my Cobra with Zaino product and it worked great.
Would highly recomend.
And unlike waxes were you can only put on one coat and it imediately starts deteriating, Zaino which is a polymer base product, will last a good while, you also can put multiple coats and it gets deeper and deeper. I usually keep about 6-8 coats on my stang.

Where do you buy the stuff? Never seen it for sale. Would it be as effective for a red car?

Not to rain on Zaino, but...The above is the 1st I've ever heard of a clay bar, so obviously never used one, but my paint is in great shape without it I'd say, but...

The whole premise of the above product lies in the CLAY BAR it appears. A clay bar can be purchased for as little as $25 I've found. I doubt I stumbled on the cheapest, so it could very well be found for LESS somewhere (?).

That being said, if I were going to "clay bar" my car believing it would remove all the impurites, etc and get the best possible clean & shine, I think I'd buy a $25 bar and use the polish of my choice and end up spendin' a whole lot less than what Zaino or what other similar packages can be purchased for :)

...Hey, I'm alll for savin' a $ or $$ right? I don't think you could tell if a car was "Zaino'd" or had a competitive product used on their car...at least not to the tune of a $175 difference :)

All just my humble opinion :)

NOTCHED, when you clay bar a car, the only thing your doin is removing the contamants (sp) off your paint. i DO NOT reccomend you clay bar your car, then leave it with out any wax or polish. leaving your paint unprotected is very bad.

you can indeed use the polish/wax of your choice. but i do highly recomend zaino to anybody wiling to spend the extra cash. you saw my car at Fat Boys, pretty shiny, yea i havent washed it sence the first of this month, and its now the 23 and it still looks like it does in the pics above. so zaino is a VERY good product...

Notch93: post up a nother thread thats why i suggested we have this section so we can come togeather and help, give pointers, and what products we have used and what we think about them etc......

Yeah, copy that, but the point I'm makin' is you can buy a simple CLAY BAR (from whomever) for $25 or less...with me so far? :) Ok...THEN you polish it up with w/ever polish you'd choose. All that for LESS buckaroos than a "kit". I've seen "kits" from other companies less and MORE than what Zaino costs.

Yeah...your car has a nice shine no doubt & black is a project to keep it LOOKIN' good, and you have to spend a little bit of money AND time to show the depth and keep the shine.

Hey...what's up with the "lubricant" used when you use the clay bar? Could you use basically H2O or liquid polish? Is it some sort of a special product these companies are promoting? Gotta go, and thx!

As long as your paint is in good shape, you can get the depth with many different products.:yes1:

All you need is a bottle of water mixed with some soap, it does the same as the lube they sell with the kits.

Do not use polish as a lube with the claybar.

you dont hafta buy a kit, we just did to make it easy on us. but you can buy just one or two bottles and be done.

the "lubricant" used to clay bar is normally quick detail spray. but some other companies ( like zaino) recomend you use something else. like when i did mine with zaino i used a cap ful of there car wash, mixed with water. if you gonna use water, i would suggest useing some sort of soap in the mix. with out a lubricant, the clay bar will just stick you your car. (not good)

No, I mean polish.:yes1: Polish and the quick detailer are two totally different products.

This is what I consider a polish.

I use Zaino on all four of my Foxes- can honestly say it does extremely good!!!!

Especially on a dark car- My 2 red cars always look shiny but my blue car- you really have to work to keep her shiny- Zaino does it a lot easier!!!!
