ok now that I have shown you all the beginnings of the build, I have a few questions to throw out there. (1) How in the hell do I get the balancer off of the crank to get the timing cover off or do I have to? (2) What should I do, if anything with the pushrods, and lifters? I've heard to soak em in parts cleaner then oil, and then I've heard just oil, whats the consensus on that? (3) And does anyone know off hand if the using a 1/2" phenolic spacer will allow me enough clearence to use the factory hood for now or will I need to wait to install it after I get a hood? Thanks for the help!!!!!

I 'll tell you what i usually do
1) for the balancer you will need a puller (auto zone will prob rent one)
2) for the lifters and push rods I get a towel and lay them out how they came out so they go back in the same place. just wipe them down and put assembly lube on them on the way back in.
3)the hood clearance will be close:dunno:I don't use them on my car, tried one time and they hurt it. My intake was to small though. the extra runner length hurt it.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, the only reason I got one was because I was "told" that I would need one with these valve covers but now looking at them on the motor I dont think I need it either. Thanks for the help though.:thumbsup1:

I'm running a 1/2 inch spacer (GT40 Tubular intake), and the stock hood works without a problem.
