Has anyone deleted their egr valve and how does it run? I need one but thought about just blocking off the ports. Will it still run okay

It depends on the car. Some run fine, the best way to do it is to have chip with the tune set to turn off the egr. Most will run lean for a little bit when you first start it up until the cpu figures out something is wrong and corrects for it.

Agian I am on the side of WHY??? I love my EGR. It increases my fuel mileage, keeps cylinder head temps down at cruise and has NO harmful effect on the engine. Why delete it??? Why do you need a new valve?? 99.99% of the time when people are replacing an EGR valve it isn't even whats wrong. Most likely you need an EVR solenoid, vacuum line repair or and EVP sensor.

I got one. The problem is that it had been removed from the motor I got for my car. I have it under control now:thumbsup1:

I ran one for awhile one time.....ended up putting it back on..

if you run the full delete..(the small spacer)....it moves the throttle bracket in so far it hits the fuel pressure regulator then you have to cut and modify the bracket its not worth the hassle.....imo

For myself and my brother in law it was just for looks. The engine bay is so much cleaner without it.

Your totally right that it helps your fuel mileage, I didn't care for the small drop in mileage I just wanted the clean look. My car only see's between 8000 to 10000 miles a year so it didn't matter.

As far as the throttle bracket hitting the fuel pressure regulator, I haven't had that problem. Plenty of clearance on the mustangs we have.

I am the brother in law fast50 speaks of. And yes there is no huge reason I took mine off other than the clean look, and making it easier to get to my fuel pressure regulator since I was having to adjust it a lot during the tuning of my nitrous setup.
And besides, my play car gets better gas mileage than my daily driver lol. My car untuned with 24 pound per hour injectors gets 26 miles to the gallon on the highway. My 2001 2wd Explorer sport DD gets only 18 to 20 after I lifted it and put it on 32" mud terrains.
