Can someone tell me where the ground wire from the starter solenoid goes to , thanks.

No one know b/c there is no ground wire on the starter soleniod... What do you mean by ground wire on the solenoid?? Pics??

there is a black wire on the solenoid like a 4 gauge, last time i checked black was ground

There is no ground on the solenoid....One post is for battery power,which runs the fuse block,ect....The 4 guage black wire comes off the other side and runs to the starter.The solenoid grounds through its mounting points

Black isn't always ground, as red isn't always power....
As chuck said, one of the large side terminals is for the battery cable, along with other fused and fuseable wires. The other large side goes to the starter on pre-92 models and is a heavy wire, post 92 has a small control wire for the solenoid on the starter. The small post wire comes a long way from the ignition switch to the clutch pedal to the transmission to the solenoid. Hope that helps and remember, black and red aren't always polarity indicators, be sure to check the battery before you jump someone else's car off, there are some jackasses out there that like to switch wire colors...

thanks man for the info, I thought it was a ground because im still having hot start issues, im just gonna put all new ground wires on.
