looking good bro. good thing you caught the problem with the liner when you did. that could have really caused bigger problems. good luck with the rebuild and keep us updated with it.

This is a prime example of why to never run paint in a engine! I'm not saying it's your fault, but just why it should'nt be done. Looks like a good start to a fresh engine!

Yea i was like WTF is this sh*t,

When i had the block cleaned up the guy at the machine shop said the bores they were tappered at the top but measured within the stock tolerances. It had good compression and power before i tore it down, just had low oil pressure.

That sucks. You can get an Explorer lower intake for a cheap price. :yes1: It's the same as the Cobra lower. Good luck with your build! :)

Also im getting rid of all those vacuum lines on the passenger side any suggestions for vacuum line routing?

Another question thats been bugging me is I using GT40 heads, TFS1 cam w/ scorpion 1.6RR's and stock valve covers, Will the covers clear the RR's? Or if I have to cut out the baffle will that crreate any issues for me?

Don't know about the 1.6rr's, but with the 1.7's, you will need to grind down the oil baffle. Does valve covers have ribs inside? I heard that the late 80's 5.0 valve covers had ribs, which means that you will need an aftermarket valve cover, unless you grind down everything.

Hey guys its been a while but i got a killer deal on a set of .030 forged speed pro pistons so i set the block back and had them punch it out so now she'll be a 306 and im still gonna be running the same set up GT40 non p heads at the shop as we speak, TFS1 cam, cobra intake, 24lbers etc.. so here are some updated pics
