has anyone tried to install a 94-04 steering wheel even without hooking up the airbag? or maybe one from an svtf? I see lots of sn95 dash swap articles but noone says anything about whether the column shaft spline is the same or not.

Wel the few SN95 interiors I've seen in a foxbody had the SN95 dash and steering wheel & column. Not sure what mods if any had to be done.

not looking to swap columns, just wanted to know if the splines were the same or if ford changed the diameter or spline count or mounting method.

i feel sure it would be safe to say that whatever it takes, it would be an act of congress and probably not simple in any way/shape/form

Why not use a column out of an 87-89? Or are you trying to keep the air bag?

I think he wants the steering wheel more than not having the bag...

I saw a article last night about a dude puttin a 94-98 Dash in his car, with the steering column. He had to move the column were it comes through the fire wall about 2 in over towards the driver side fender to make it work.

yeah, I was following that one too. but they kinda got off topic by talking about an install for a t-bird turbo coupe. Im not looking to have to change the column just the wheel. Ive got a spare from my L laying in the garage, pretty sure its the same as an explorer so Im going to measure how far the stock wheel sticks out the maybe try a swap. I was just looking to see if anyone had attempted it before besides the usual aftermarket toys.

I tried this a couple years ago. I pull the steering wheel off my '98 and tried to put if on my '91. The shafts are different and the whole column needs to be changed.
