Ok guys i have a questions about my twin turbo car. I have seen a lot of turbo cars and i have never seen one that sounds like mine does. Any ideas on why it sounds like an owl and not a turbo car?

Also I am having an issue when it is cold with it starting. It will take it a few tries to get it crank. It only happens when it is below about 50 and once it is started if i drive it a few min then get out it will start fine. any ideas on what this would be?

thanks for the reply bones. I put this in the wrong section i think. Looking for one of the tuners or somebody to give me a hand and what they think.

Also: It seems real weird to me that the car would make almost 500 tq and almost 400 hp. I have not seen the numbers that far off before. most the time they are around the same right? thanks again guys

How is the BOV plumbed? Is the MA a draw thru or blow thru? How much boost?

You need a different BOV

I am uploading a few pics to show ya. I am not sure as far as the MA. Boost is 8 to 10 pounds

It sounds like a owl because of the BOV thats the way that one sounds. The other reason it doesn't sound like a turbo car is your wastegates are not dumping to atmosphere like alot of other turbo cars. Cold start issue you need to talk to tim about that.

What valvesprings and cams do you have in the motor?

the motor is stock, It was built in AL so i do not want to take it back to them to get it tuned again. Not sure who to get to tune it. I have used tim to dyno it but have not seen any turbo cars he has done only seen kb cars. Anybody that knows a lot about the turbo side of things?

What BOV would you suggest?

The noise you are hearing is the BOV. Changing it will make different noise and depending on brand/size, etc the way it gets back into boost after a shift.

on the starting issue i think the temp sensor or related circuit could possibly be the problem. Not reading right and adding to much fuel for start up??just a thought

Yeah, that's definitely the bullhorn BOV you got on there. Personally, I like the sound of TiAL units.

i agree with the engine coolant temp sensor. it will make the car very rich when the engine is cold and as the engine warms up it will slowly become less rich. you can test the sensor with a multimeter if you have one. if you want i can give you step by step instructions on checking it. a bad coolant temp sensor will read -40 degrees. that tells the pcm that it is extremely cold and to throw the gas to it! the owl sound you are referring to is that style B.O.V., my buddy's vette has that same style B.O.V. on his procharger and it sounds just like a hoot owl.
