alright fellows, i picked my 89 hatch up a week ago and the trans is slippin from 1-2. it is gonna be a d/d but i am going to take it to the track. my initial goal is to run mid 6's at mobile dragway, which isnt a true 8th. everyone is telling me to get a c4, if anyone has any other suggestions let me know. i like the overdrive for a d/d but i want a pretty bad ass tranny for the track. im goin to pick my 3.73 gears up tomorrow.

if you get a trans from performance automatic you can get with a life time warranty !!!! i did.... lol skip

I have a lifetime warranty as well...hardly used though :)
I deffiently agree keeping the AOD. Slipping from 1-2 is very rare however, and concerning. There is usually only one reason for this and that is bad one way roller clutch, which means rebuild is in order. BUT, it could just mean the VB is gummy and playing games with you as well. The fluid will tell you, check it is full and bright red, and DON"T forget to keep any eye on that TV cable :d
