So got a cheap pair of lx tail lights at the junkyard this weekend and restored them best I could, here's the mid-project and final pics.. off to the for sell section if you're looking for some honeycombs! Don't mind the bumper that's a project for my next long weekend.

if you spray the back of the bucket mat black it will make the lens look tinted.

no chit.. how do you pry the lens from the buckets? I wanted to get in there to clean them better but wasn't sure how much prying the plastic could take

yea i like the look. I was still up in the air about the change til the wife saw em and is making me sell the HONEY COMBS, lol... Nova is it hard to pry the lights apart to spray the buckets black like you had mentioned?

Lol surprised no one has mentioned the "reliable" hatch holder?! Oh yes one sturdy ice scraper will do til jeff gets me a set of new ones.

Did you go to Foss or Odums? I've got a pair from Foss I paid $13.50 for. I have to go there this week or next to get my left fender another $13.50.

i got em from a place outside C. Lejeune back gate.. called Shepards. I got a bunch of other stuff too but paid $50 total, they had 5 foxes to salvage off of.

Shepards is in Sneads Ferry right? Were any of the cars GT's or convertibles? Do they let you pull your own parts there?

Foss sucks balls i was there the other day and they only had 2 to pick through.

That really sucks because I was the guy who decided what cars stayed and what got crushed. I saved at least ten fox bodies from may to october and was constantly fighting with the guy that worked with me that we needed to keep them. I guess they went through and crushed the fields again. I got laid off from there in October 2 days after getting my 16 stitches in my hand.

yea you pull your own parts, one of the guys there owns a coupe himself.. o yea it's in sneads ferry. Yes on the verts, but one is getting crushed soon, i know they have 3-4 coupes and I know there's that one vert don't fully remember if any of the others were, none were GTs tho.

haha I'm up in the air about which set I like better...

I have the normal ones on my car but they just look so plain and old... lol

At least the "cheese graters" had a cool uniqueness to them :lol1:

I like my GT tail lights no one else does though. I have a set of LX tails in the garage also I just haven't brought myself to put them on yet.

That's where I was at, I see less and less GTs with em. You're right bout the lx ones being so plain jane, eventually gonna try the clears out and see how I like those.

i used to hate them but i've sorta grown on mine and i'm gonna leave them on there

Yeah Idk, every time I see my rear lights I think "wow they look so plain..." lol

Maybe its just the car. I'd like some tinted ones, blacked out to match lol

Just don't want to affect my/other drivers visibility, I already can't see my reverse lights through the rear window tint :lol1: Actually on that note I'm not sure they even work ><

Just fixed my tag lights the other day, wire was just cut in half... guess I'd been riding with them out for over a month now...

BRB going to check my reverse lights LOL :bat:

Yeah, I like the way they look on your car quin, and I sort of liked them on the red car... I am not so sure they would look good on my lx since its a coupe tho.

I started with the cheese graters and had them for 10 yrs, I thought the rear needed a change so I went with the LX lens look and had them for 2 yrs, but then I thought the Cobra lenses would look better, so I've tried a few rear lenses on the back of my GT and IMHO LX lenses look the best.

Just wished I'd kept my cheese grater thought , because the price they're asking for them now is nuts!!

I like the LX lenses better myself. I changed mine too to LX. Still have the cheese graters though, they need a little work. I had thought about selling them. And I do like the hatch prop. I have one too....an old rake handle.
