If you have any ideas or thoughts on how we can improve or just leave alone the FOTM, please post them up.

Leave it alone. Its perfect the way it is. Yeah people get in who's pictures are a little photo shopped and yeah there cars may not be as nice in person as they are in photos but I think that is a good thing. Yeah sometimes its a popularity contest but that is okay too. Fact is not everyone can have nice magazine cars or superchargers or turbo chargers or etc. The way it is people with average cars can win FOTM too.
One thing I would like to see is AFTER a member is chosen to win it would be nice to do a little write up about there car and the mods for future members to see when they check out old FOTM's.

I agree, you'll never be able to satisfy everyone, the way you guys have it set-up works. I think the write-up idea is a good one.

Yeah I'm with Jeff! Leave it alone. Not everyone's car is show worthy but that's not what the site is for! It's for fox bodies of all variety!

It was more me than you. I like it how it is as far as nominating and voting. HOWEVER, I think after you win the nomination, I think there should be a few questions to answer to go along with the pic of your car, ie: how did you get into Fox Mustangs, what are your future plans for the car, what is your favorite mod, least favorite mod, goals for the car, etc. These are questions that have nothing to do with being nominated, but allow others to let you know your opinion and how you got to where you are.

I suggest the post count be raised to 200 before a car can be nominated. Why put someone's ride on the front page if they don't participate in the forum? There have been FOTM nominee's and winners who are rarely on the boards.
I'll admit I have felt snubbed more than once by being active on the site only to be beaten out by a $20,000 ride who just showed up. It doesn't take long to get 50 posts as we saw a few months ago when a new guy joined up, and posted 25 times in less than 5 minutes. Post number 26 was in the classifieds.
I like most everyone else here has dumped a ton of time, money, blood and sweat into their ride, and there is not a day that goes by when I don't think of something else I want to do to make my car better. The fact is it costs money to make it quicker, faster, prettier etc etc, and I have enjoyed meeting the people here when we come down for MW or when we met at Pinks All Out at Zmax a couple years ago. There will always be nicer cars out there, but the focus of FOTM should be to acknowledge the car and owner who has put their heart and soul into their ride to make it their own. Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

FOTM can get way too complicated if we let it, which would hurt participation, imo. Waaay too many variables why people nominate and vote the way they do. It can be about the way the car looks, the mods performed(unique/clean/all the work themselves/etc.), the personality in the owner, their event participation. Sometimes it's just one variable and other times it's multiple. To control it too much would take some off the ease and fun out of it.
At the same time, I'm never opposed to change when it's an attempt to improve something...and if a change doesn't work, change it back! :thumbsup1:
With that said, I like the few rules we have in place now, but I would like to see nominations accompanied with at least one reason why. Maybe even the x2s and x3s also? It may shed some light on why the car/owner is deserving that the others weren't aware of.

i think overall FOTM is working great the way it is...the one thing drivenfool said that i really agree with is that increasing the post count, or if the mod's can tell user activity to where folks can't just show up and win that would be a good improvment. I know my car will prob never win FOTM its just a good ol driver and no where near as tricked out as most of yours, but i've seen lots of great cars miss out month after month. I really like the idea of dedicated memebers getting this honor and not folks who just surf from site to site once in a blue moon.

For the most part I like it the way it is as well. The post count being raised I like as well. I've noticed we've got some "posters" in here hitting the "Members Rides" sections, getting up to 25 posts with "Nice car" and then straight to the for sale section they go. I also think a small write up about the owner and the car would not be a bad thing. I've gotten to know some of you pretty well, but not everyone. It would be cool to learn about that person. Things can always be improved and not everyone is going to be happy. (myself included) I've been nominated several times and never made it, I'd be lying to you all if I said it did not hurt a little. I would not have any pride about myself if it didn't. I think that I've lost to better rides everytime though, and I'm ok with that! Lots of good ideas coming out of here........

Being one of the top 5 nominees is an honor itself, but I can see the frustration of being a bridesmaid time after time.
I've watched Danny(drivin-fool) being nominated monthly for the better part of a year awhile back to no nominations at all lately...all the while his car has improved imo.
Maybe it was the fact that he almost put his Fox in the wall at the roundy-round that freaked everybody out!!! :lol1:

Me three. Although it has been a while.:lol1: but thats cool because in my opinion it's not FOTM material anyway. I'm proud to have made it into the calendar also. I show it to everyone that comes over.

This^^^^^:yes1: Im another one that knows my car will never win but its something that I did most of the work on myself. Other than the help from (Razzys Wagon) Mark! It started off as a POS 4cyl and I wonted something that you dont see many of and thats where the kit came in. Now....How the car sets I get a lot of looks but I could never compare mine to a lot of them on here.:patriot:
