I have a local shop that has a awesome guy tuning cars now and he informed me that he would be using a Moates chip? My car is a 91 LX coupe with the stock short block, AFR 165 non egr heads, og 93 cobra intake, 65mm tb, cai, F303 cam, 1.6 comp pro magnum rr, bbk longtubes and off road x-pipe, bassani muffs dump'd, 4:10 gear and a 27" tall drag radial. I had not heard of these until now but anyway the price for the chip and dyno time tuning my car would be $375 the local SCT guy priced a tune and dyno time for $500 so I'd like to try the Moates chip. If any of you guys know anything on this I would appreciate the info.

Most likely he is using a Moates F3 chip. Its the same as the SCT stuff just without the name. I personally use them without issue.

Im using the moates quarterhorse with good success ... Like silver91hatch said above, the moates chip will be the j3 chip ... same principle as a sct or diablo chip, just cheaper
