here's one - you'll need the sn95 bell, and you can sell the shifter for 100$

http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1091569

here's another one - with the clutch and shifter for 100$ less

94-95 Trans WILL NOT work in a fox body. You will need to change the Input shaft as it is 5/8" longer.

i agree, the input shafts are different for a t5 foxbody trans and a t5 sn95 trans. but it will work without changing input shafts. you just need to use the sn95 bellhousing with the sn95 trans, thats all. those posts for the sn95 trans included the bell housing and fork, so everything thats needed to install was there.

if the post was just for the sn95 trans, i would have mentioned he needed to either change the input shaft and use the stock foxbody bell housing OR sell the foxbody bell and use the sn95 bell.

edit - i did mention the sn95 bell in my post above?

Not sure where your info is coming from here. It WILL NOT work (other than bolting in) due to the difference in the input shaft.

In 1994 when Ford changed Body Styles the drivetrain lengthened by 5/8". This was in the Bellhusing and Transmission Input shaft. If you install the Bell and trans from a 94-95 into a Fox Body the Issue is location. Due to the extra length, the driveshaft will not fit properly. The length of the driveshaft did not charnge over the years. The only part of the driveshaft that changed was the Input spline count. It was either 28 or 31 spline. If the trans and bell thoretically move back towards the rear of the car by 5/8", you are creating a big issue with the slip yoke of the driveshaft. It is designed to slide in an out of the Tail Housing of the Transmssion. In the situation you are stating will work, the driveshaft will have no slip as the suspension angles change. This WILL cause the Tail Housing Bushing in the trans to wear out prematurely. t will also eventually cause the transmission Tail Housing to crack.

its a common swap, documented, and done by many without issues?

i do have a question though - if 'theoretically' ford did move the trans and bell back by .672 to .750 inches on the 94/95 model year, how come the 94/95 drive shaft is the same exact length as the 86-93 driveshaft? shouldn't the 94/95 driveshaft be shorter then?

and with all the mustang owners / shop owners / racers and enthusiasts that are on the corral, how come nobody replied to the below thread in the manner that you did?

if it WILL NOT WORK as you mentioned above, don't you think that someone would have said something?

I used an SN-95 T-5 in my 86 GT Mustang for years before I finally toasted it. It wasn't something I'd have normally tried, but I was working at Ford at the time and we had to replace a customers tranny from a 95GT under warranty. I didn't feel there was anything wrong with the trans so I put it in my car ( hard to argue with free LOL ! ) and drove it another 50K or so before I finally broke it for good. It CAN be done though...:)

I agree, I did it in my 86gt also. You will need to get a bellhousing from the sn95 though. You will need to check the slip yoke clearence as stated. I think I cut 3/4" off my yoke to make it work. Also they sale spacers for SN95 cars with the motorsports alu. driveshaft.
