My buddy used to own that car when it was together. It had a 331 with a TKO500/600 and it was pretty fast, he traded it for a stock 97 cobra to get a daily driver. I haven't seen it in a while, don't know how owns it now??

Well, it was supposed to be a solid car when he had it. He is a painter but I don't remember anything about the paint. After he sold it, it went threw many transformations, AOD, T5, C4, etc. He had slicks on it when he had it and it stayed in the garage most of the time with a bad clutch, I helped him install the tranny then he traded it. I don't remember every thing about the car but you can get a VIN and carfax it of need be, I don't remember if its been knocked around, he used it as a street demon and a lot of stop light to stop light racing in it... I would remember the SPEC sticker in the rear glass anywhere, I think it had a HED Dyno sticker over the 3rd brake light when he had it but it would pass inspect with it.

that explains why it's up forsale as a roller then, hell he probably got laughed out of town with that kinda price on it.

Well then it was setup for the track. Welds, 26x10.5x15 ET Streets, full suspension front and rear, nasty N20 331, ported TW heads, etc. I know he had 13K in the motor.

Not to pry but how much is he asking ? Its a clean body but what are the specs to go with it ? I'm in the Pacific NorthWest and rides are a dime a dozen for rollers at times. Never trying to insult other foxbody owners but there are some steep prices out your way.

ther is no way that car is worth 4500.00 with no drivetrain.it might be worth 2000.00 at best.

I think it is worth close to $4500, maybe $3800-4000. $2000 is a lowball on a nice SSP car just missing a motor.

Just my .02.....but just because its a SSP doesnt automatically add 2k to its value in my book.......all the SSP's had were extra reinforcements...a higher speed speedometer and blue hoses.......
Coupe roller.....2k tops!

I haven't called him yet....

He said its neg.....so I am not sure how much?

I figure it might be worth $3500..

Got the under the hood shots...they were not what I expected....but..

I have motor and transmission...but he said it would come with a T-5...

I don't know yet....we shall see..

there is a local car like five minutes away that just needs a motor for $2800....its a 87 white GT.....Needs wheels and a motor.....

it has some goodies though....

Tremec 3550
alum driveshaft
3:55 gear, Girdle
Eibach springs,
New Shocks struts
New Carpet,
Cobra R hood
Saleen Wing...
Mass Air Conversion..

Which you would go for?

What kinda shape is the GT in?? Int/Ext??? I personally like coupes and I know SSP's aren't the holy grail but a nice non-salavged SSP car is getting rarer by the day. It all depends on what the guy with the coupe will go for.

Wayne's 88 GT

You will get more out of the coupe because a 5 speed manual window coupe will bring more money than a 87 GT any day of the week. Allthough if the GT is as nice as described and you could walk away with it for under 2k....hmmmm decisions decisions

lol....I really want to get it painted...the black coupe I just sold has got me in love with black....I just can see that car painted Black and Slick....and oh yea.....I am working on getting some CCW for it....Don't know if it will happen.....

Buying them up......not really....I just really like messing with them.....Its a bonus to make a little (very little) on the side while doing it....I really don't try and make a living off of it...I would keep everyone I have if possiable....

The white GT is Firm at $2800 but it does have good parts....Really I can count at least $1800 in aftermarket parts....

I don't know what to do....

I'd go for the GT.......$4500 is crazy for a roller. If you already have a motor, you would have a better car for less money with the GT, with all the aftermarket stuff it already has. But thats my opinion......and its your decision.

If he finds the right guy he will probably get that out of that car.... The SSP cars seem to resale much higher than the regular coupes, I have owned one before and it's just kinda cool to know that people have been chased down, locked up, Ticketed etc. etc. in that car.... Maybe it was just the shotgun rack in the back and the mag light holder in case you wanted to wack the **** out of somebody after you're engulfed with roadrage.... lol I don't know go figure, but the car looks pretty nice from the pics and even a straight NON-ssp coupe with good paint and nice interior is gonna be pricey.... It's hard to find those cars that are still nice and dont have 4 different colors of paint on them..... If you bought that car and had the internals laying around to make it driveable it would be worth almost twice that....

Just my .02 cents
Mick

I agree ssp cars are not that special I have talked to a lot of cops that have owned them. They all say they beat the hell out of them I wouldn't give over 2k for it.

I'm happy with my SSP but it only cost me $2400... The Notches in general are just esculating in prices but most SSP's are not original anymore. Heres one from the movie "Friday Night Lights" http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll58/91DSRTDOG/FNL_Movie_Old20Sign.jpg
