OK Gang, we are going to try this again.
Our very first ever FAMILY DAY will be June 13th
in Columbia, SC.
The day will include a day at Riverbanks Zoo, along with lunch. After a day at the zoo we will take a short road trip to Fat Boys for their monthly cruise-in.
I will work on getting us discounts for the zoo, once I get an idea of how many, so post up and vote!!
Please plan on being gone the whole day and most of the evening. Also bring your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend, kids, grand kids, mother and/or father if you like. This is a day for our families to meet each other and have some fun.
Also would everyone like to eat at the zoo at one of the restaurants or we bring items for a picnic while there?
UP TO THE MINUTE INFO FOR EVERYONE AS OF June 9, Thanks Hanley:thumbsup1:
We'll meet at the zoo in the left parking lot (zoo entrance side) around 10:30 and then go in at 11:00, this will give 30 minutes to collect anyone that may be slightly behind due to traffic, needed pit stops or whatever. Food and snacks are available in the zoo. 4:00 we'll get everyone together and leave about 4:30 (give or take a few minutes) and cruise over to FatBoys and invade the monthly cruise in. Food is available here as well (Fat Boy's and a Wendy's). I was also thinking about going to 5 Guys after the cruise in if anyone wanted join us for the brief ride. We can discuss the food issue and cruise in details/route when we meet at the zoo ....
the fine detail for the zoo.... once you exit off of I-126 to Greystone, make a left turn,... you will immeadiately go around the curve that leads to the zoo parking lot entrance on the right. You will cross a set of RR tracks and into the zoo . turn left towards the entrance. I figure it will be easier for us to park somewhere along the trees next to the RR tracks,
directions for the out of towners is easy...... interstate all the way..... I-26 for g'ville to I-126 towards Columbia (like the cruise to KrispyKreme after the Jan G2G) take the GreyStone exit... turn left....the zoo is on the right...... Florence area or from that direction.... take I-20 to I-26 east to I-126..... from the Charlotte direction.... come down I-77 to I-20 west to I-26 to I-126.... Low country .... take I-26 towards Columbia to I-126 ..... Aiken/Augusta.... I-20 to I-26... to I-126........
the cruise over to FatBoy's will be on to I-126 to I-26 east towards Charleston (Chuck Town) to exit 111A towards Lexington.... two lights up is Fat Boy's
