I don't know if it's been brought up before, but I always hang car calendar's in my house and thought it would be cool to have a SEFB calendar featuring member's rides. Maybe the featured cars could be past photo of the month winner's and/or group pic's of past get togethers? I couldn't begin to know the cost to do this, but I'm sure plenty of member's would donate to have this done. I've seen a lot of pic's of some beautiful rides on here and in person at MW 2011 and would love to have them displayed in my home every month. (maybe mine one day). I could really see this taking off and maybe make the club some money. I'm sure some the club sponsor's would jump at the chance to get some ad's in it as well. What do y'all think?

As been discussed and from what I remember everyone was in agreement it would be awesome...but it never went beyond the "good idea" phase.

I wish it would happen. It would even be cool to hold some sort of contest or something that would give the winner the cover photo. Would it be okay to post a pole on it and see who would donate for sure?

SVTperformance did a nice one and has for sometime. What I think ends up happening is there is a large want but when it comes time to pay, and they usually are expensive: many don't buy. I think the svt one was $30-40 best I remember.

I think this sounds like a great idea It would give SEFB a chance to make money to put toward more events and a great chance to get the SEFB name out there even more! :thumbsup1: I could look into getting these made if we really wanted to? :thumbsup1:

My father acctually owns a business he makes tee shirts, calendars, etc. :patriot:

If we really wanted to do this i think we should!

We had one a couple of years ago. It wasn't as nice as the SVTP one but it was around 20-25 dollars if I recall. The biggest issue with it is finding enough high quality pictures to go in it. I know we had talked about doing one with all the FOTM's in it but then you run into the issue of having a good enough shot of everyones car. When you blow a picture up to go on a calander it will kill a picture taken with a point and shoot.

Issue two would be finding someone to get it set up and organized. Its kind of a PITA. I think the last one was done on cafepress.com

I can see where some of these issues would come into play but i think instead of doing FOTM calendar we should just take some of the high quality pics through out some of the members rides and some of the high quality fotm pics and put them together I would honestly love to try to make this happen and would love to particapate in it!

Carolinarides did a calendar a couple years ago that my car was in. They had you email ONE high quality pic with a brief description on the car and owner's name. I think it was $25 to purchase.

FOTM would be perfect as they've already been voted on by the club, but as mentioned they usually lack the quality needed for a calendar.

One pitfall of going the submission route is the folks reviewing and selecting the pics for the calendar(likely admins/mods) are really open to critisms of favoritism. You could go the poll route, but the there may be 100+ pics to chose from!!!!

I'd love to see it happen, but there would have to be some trust involved with the selection process.

the last svt calendar was done with about 7-8 cars per page. Turned out really nice, that way it wasn't just 12 cars. it was done where alot of peoples cars got featured.

Theres was broke down in sections each month. South East? North East? West? etc etc.

cough, cough....yeah something about J-D-S photography if I remember right.

Most of the cars that get voted FOTM attend several of the get-togethers and meets for SEFB. If the winner of the FOTM wants to take part in the calender than they have to make sure someone gets a quality pic at one of the events. If they fail to do so then you could have us all vote on a alternate. Or vote for one alternate each month (there's more and more members here anyways) so there is no confusion at the end of the year.

Or do 4 pics for each month and let more people participate. Just because everybody doesnt have a show quality car doesnt mean that it shouldnt be included in a SEFB calendar. Everybody pays $10 or $15 to get their pic in the calendar. Thats $480-$600 just in entry $$ and if you sell them for $20......thats a pretty good oportunity for revenue for SEFB. Maybe the FOTM gets a free calendar!!

Just some ideas.....

I like these ideas! The more photos on each month=smaller photos=better quality.......:yes1: This could work fellas.

Wondering if some sort of "prototype" could be put together to give member's a visual on what they would be getting to spark more interest and a better chance of it taking off. :dunno:

When you blow a picture up to go on a calander it will kill a picture taken with a point and shoot.

That's not entirely true. Particularly with today's P&S cameras.

Heck my old cannon G3 put out just as good a picture as my Rebel XT up through an 8x11 and 11x17's were dependant on tons of other variables on which camera turned out better pics.(Most favored the DSLR though lol).

But back to the main topic, I'm down for one. We had one on the Mach 1 Registry through cafe press and I believe it was in the neighborhood of $20.(I think the picture of my car was shot with my old G3)

Post up some big pics of your fox in the hatchback calender thread. Car looks great. :yes1: Once they close it theyre gonna have a club vote and put the top 6 hatchbacks in the calender.
