New plan is to pull my 302 and get her refreshed with some new forged internals. I plan on getting her bored the standard amount over say about
.020 hot tanked and repainted. I just need to figure out what pistons rods and crank (if one at all) i am going to go with. plans are to shoot for 320 to 350 rwhp. i plan to use the afm quick kit one and the afm 6500 rpm top end kit. I have been looking at dss racings pistons and rods and ran intot their stroker kits tonight. i have to say that the 306 stroker kits are looking very enticing right now and the price is right. If anyone has some input on this feel free to suggest away. i open to all input.

I also have to get my tko 600 looked at so it can go in at the same time as the motor. UPR control arms need to go on as well as my 255 fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. 3.55 gears, moser performance rear end cover and other miscellanious parts i have laying around. Eventually when i get my new DD (04 acura tsx payed off) i will start all over and do the turbo build i have dreamt of for so long.:nanalama:

Well.......if you are planning on doing a stroker and you are looking at the prices on a 306 kit........just a few dollars more and you can have a 331 or 347 kit.....esp if you are wanting 320-350 hp.......I myself would go with a nice 331 kit so when you do go turbo you may not even have to change the bottom end.......just my .02. I'd say get in touch with Greg at XSR on here and he can guide you in the best way to go

yeah im still looking around. origionally i was just going to get pistons and rods then i saw those all forged kits. i kinda want to keep the smaller cubes though. i dont want to go all out on this motor because eventually when i go turbo i am going to be getting rid of this motor. but i want to build something that is going to be fun to take out on the weekends and cruise in until i do that but still get decent fuel economy.

Unless the bottomend needs rebuilding, I would'nt mess with it. I would do a topend package, with a custom cam. Do everything that will support your future motor, and you want have to spend more money later on. You can get 330rwhp(manual) with a 302/306, with the right combination on the topend.

thats the thing, i dont know what condition my bottom end is in, i think its good but wont know for sure unless i tear it apart and if i do that i might as well just rebuild it. on the other hand since i will be going with a new block in the future i could just do heads and cam and if it blows up it blows up lol. my motor has the forged pistons in it already and i have been thinking about running nitrous for when i go to the track. the afm top end kits plus the quick kit 1 netted 320 at the rear wheels on a stock 5.0 bottom end and thats what i was looking at going with. it would save me alot of time and money just to do that so maybe i will. still weighing my options though. keep the input coming though because it is really going to help me in my decision. thanks in advance too.
