I am got almost everything done on the motor ( Went with new rings, bearings and seals on the stock 302 ) I was wanting to know if you guys got any tips on how to tap the oil pan or best way and spot to do it incase i need it later. Also what size fitting would be best? Thanks guys. Post pics if ya got some.

just tap it slow and put a lot of grease on the tap to catch the metal

The pan is off the motor so i will be able to clean it after i tap it. What size tap would be good and where at on the pan? Thanks

Just put it in the ft sump, just above the full point...it best to check it with it in, to make sure that nothing gets in the way....size depends on use....

measure 2" from the front of the pan which would be on the passeger side of motor and then down 1-1.5"s and tap a 1/2" or so hole. you can get a fitting from lowe's or home depot to tap into the pan.

yeah, thats what i would do since you have the pan off the motor. much easier to do that way and will pervent leaks.

Since this is up, if anyone's running a 351 pan with dipstick and all I'd like to know how to attach the dipstick tube so its not all wobbling around and about to pull out...
Thanks :)
