October TN and NC combo meet?

Ok the other day tmp posted about having a dragon meet in october. How would you all like to make it a East TN and West NC meet on the dragon. And either before or after the runs up the dragon everyone from both states meet up somewhere to eat. I think it would make a awesome meet if we could make it happen. I could lead the TN crew in from my side and chumley (cobra_4) could lead the NC members in. If I remember right trevor suggested october 16th for it. Ill have to find the post. What you TN guys and NC guys think about that.

Doubt you'll get many NC guys...just too far(230 miles one way just to get there for me) right between two races. Holcomb club race at the Rock is a couple weeks before and the big Radial Revolution race in south GA at SGMP a lot of us are going to is October 14-16. I'd love to get to drive on the dragon and surrounding roads one day.

So what would work out better late September, late October or early November. This was gonna be the last meet for tn since the holidays start in November and pick back up on the tn meets up mid January. The later in the year the more likely my car making it ( now Jeff and Curtis are gonna make witty comments about my last statement :lol1: )

This Summer has been DRY for me, as far as club events, or Mustang events in general as far as that goes!!! Just too much going on, I've got birthdays and a wedding anniversary in June, Sons Birthday in July, and family time in general!!!! The next step for this group has to be a restructure, Henrod has done an awesome job with the East side!:thumbsup1:

The date I suggested was the week before Radial Revolution I think. You'll wanna make it a NC,SC,TN meet. Its a drive from Greenville, a long haul from Concord east.

Ok is anybody still interested in doing this? October will be here before you know it. Throw some dates out there and we will see if they will work. I'm thinking late october early november.

Sept is the Club Wars, then for late Oct I was hoping to get a meet at Fox Mustang Restoration in Locust, NC where I would like to get some SC folks up for a much better turnout. Figure the timing might be perfect with the launch of Fox Mustang Mag. Matt at FMR told KB and I at MW he wants to get us there and give a tour of the facility. Then there's the dyno challenge on Oct 8th that some might attend. Of course we tend to slow down for the holiday's(Nov/Dec), minus our holiday party(s).

Not to poo-poo on it Henry, but honestly we might want to table this until the spring were we can have more time for people to plan and save and get a good turnout. I've never been to the dragon and would love to go.

Doesn't mean you can't set a date and post up for interest. May get enough to make a go at it?? Just my thoughts! :dunno:

I can see where your coming from troy and I thought it may be a cool idea to end the year off. I suppose we could postpone the tn and nc combo meet till spring but we will have to do it when the weather is still fairly cool before all the bikers are on it. That could be a good thing too cause that gives me plenty of time to ready my car (that is a very unbelieveable statement since it hasn't been to a meet yet :lol1: )

Mileage from Morganton to Knoxville T.N is approximately 135 miles one way. another 35 miles to highway 128 and 12 miles to Deals gap puts you at 180 to 185 miles one way.
