That thing is already bid up to $18k, and the reserve is still not met. I'd rather build one myself with a crate motor and a roller than pay that. Yikes.

That's a really nice car. I saw it in person a few months ago and it was amazing. But I just can't justify spending that much for one!!! I mean it's cool and all, but you could buy a nice 03 Cobra for that price, or by the time the reserve is met it would probably be in the 2011 territory. I believe they wanted like $25,000 for it if I remember correctly.

I's a nice ride but I loved that he stated (This is a profesional build not a back yard resto. )...dude ....look at your pics....the 6th one down....well in my back yard I put both the nuts on the trans mount...:lol1:

You couldn't build that car to the level that it is at for under $25k properly if you consider the time it took to do it. Several of those photos were taken while it was still being built. I've seen all sides of the car in person, and there was a lot of attention to making the car function and drive like it was made at the Ford factory. I wouldn't hesitate to drive that car across the country or take it to a track.

Like stated above and some of us discussed at MW, it's very hard to justify paying more for a fox than a termi(no matter what's been done to the Fox). Considering a Cobra has already proven it can make rediculous power AND drive cross country makes those cars the high water mark. I'm sure it's nice and there's definitely some cool factor, but I think 18k is strong money already...if it gets to $25k I'd thank my lucky stars.

I agree with part of what you said...25K would be a break even price...there is a ton of time in doing something that has not been done before....but on the other hand to say a back yard shop could not do the same is bull!!! I would be willing to bet that big nice shop started in some guys BACK YARD!!! Sounds to me as if he is pissing on his roots...

$25k is about as inflated a price as a certain someone's ego.
Maybe I'm just jaded in what I've spent on my car verses what it's actually worth, but even if I had my car painted and then spent the additional $8-9k it would take to do this swap I can't fathom it being worth $25k.

The car has had some press has it not? Was this the one done for a Ford contest?

That was a blue coupe
What you guys have to remember, this is a brand new mustang! I don't care what the title says or where it has been! It was fully restored to what a new 5.0 gt would bring and nobody here would complain if they bought one for 38k so in my opinion (not that I can afford it) its well worth 25-30k

Most backyard shops don't have the machining capabilites to CNC their own bracket assemblies. I know that the AC and steering was not a bolt-in on that car - I asked.
Bob and Bart are pretty down to earth. You might want to meet them before making ridiculous statements like that. I wouldn't have let them touch my car if they had ego complexes.

You obviously haven't been to KMS. The only two techs there - Bart and Mitch - did all of the wrenching. The shop has a lot of space, but with a total of 4 people in the whole shop, and only 2 on the service side, it's not a large shop.

Dude you have misunderstood everything I have said.....I'm not taking away from what they have or can do!! It was a "ridiculous statements " saying a back yard shop cant do it...read the listing....I'm sure they are great guys. but like I said...I BET THEY STARTED IN THEIR BACK YARD TOO.....
Sorry...I did pick on them for the missing trans mount nut....Sorry

thats one sweet ride will they take body organs for trade
since when are our cars worth what we put into them? I know mine isnt. I got that gut check when the appraiser was making his rounds and pointing out all the flaws. but if the worst should happen, i wont lost all of what I have in it.
However, the friends ive made, the memories created, and the life lessons that come with hotrodding cars have been worth every dollar, late night, drop of blood, sweat, and tears. the hunk of metal sitting in my garage is just a tangible piece of the prior mentioned things.
