Heh, came in here to post and saw the same thing happened yesterday...
What shitty luck we have.
Cept my windshield now needs to be replaced as well as my cowl, but the fking hood was FINE... some light scuffs and a tiny chip out of the old chipped spot... fuel gauge flew into the windshield and busted it and the gauge itself... 1.5 minutes of light sanding and spray paint the hood will be back to its old self. the pos. Knew I should have put pins in it the day I got it.
what shitty luck.

At 40mph no less... I did what, 60-80mph on the interstate for 15 minutes... get ONE MILE from home, and BAM WHAT THE F***.
Course, this is what totaled my 92 coupe, and if I were doing 75mph this time it'd have totaled this one too...
And I'm in the same boat, my cowl panel is bent in so much its almost touching the bottom lol
These things piss me off.

haha, I wanted hood pins but never got around to it didn't seem like a big deal at the time...
Anyone know about how much a windshield is going to cost?
It was pretty scary because that's how my first, and last, fox mustang died in 04... then I got this one and jumped on it.

You are 100% correct Chuck.:yes1: In my 89, me and a friend were going up 77. He wondered why we went from 55 to a dead stop in the emergency lane real fast (he thought we got yanked over:lol1:). I saw it start to lift, and got very lucky it didn't come up more then about 5 inches before I got the car stopped.

I just have liability, no comprehensive or collision... lol
Not worth it when I can get a full parts car for 600 bux you know... hell to afford it my deductible would be 1/2 of that anyway.

I understand you have only liability, but if you had comp, there would be no deductible.
SC has a $0 deductible windshield replacement law? This means that your insurance is required to replace your windshield without applying your deductible. As long as you have full coverage on your vehicle, your insurance will pay 100% of the replacement costs. Your selected auto glass installer will work directly with your insurance to arrange payment.

The stock one I seen fly up...the latches worked fine.....what happned is the hook on the latch pulled thru the metal on the hood......As soon as I seen that happen,I had a set on pins in my hood

lol, last time it was a stock hood stock latch, this time it was a glass hood stock latch... metal insert in the hood, the latch is what came loose not the hood.
So, I'm just going to pin the pos and there won't be a next time :)
